Do cars clear customs before they arrive at the VPC or after?
Car shows it's at VPC and trying to figure out how long before it ends up at the dealer.

Not positive but logic would tell me that the car clears customs before being released to the VPC...

before. once they get to the vpc they're processed, then released to trucking, then delivered to the store. Only euros go through customs.

Everything goes through Customs as part of leaving the boat and port compound. Bulk shipments from BMW to dealers get the benefit of near fully automated processing and rubber stamps. Probably an occasional spot check or two just to be sure someone isn't taking advantage. ED cars on the other hand are afforded to full scrutiny and paper shuffling that a warped mind can conceive since they've been in private hands and may be smuggling mules.

well then something doesn't add up since I did ED pickup on 2/12. How has the car cleared customs already? I only had it for a 1/2 day in Germany....
