Bought my oil at Opie after they price-matched the recent Makro special offer. But I'll ask my question again...

Is it worth providing my own brake fluid (again sourced from Opie)?

What make / standard of brake fluid do BMW use... wouldn't want to turn up with the wrong stuff!

Has anyone done this?

Hope your walking in a straight line soon!!:I got quoted £415 from Hexagon for an oil change and micro filters, not sure how my quote and yours are £135 apart????....maybe its your youth that blinded them into that quote.......... From Wayside in Milton Keynes the same thing was quoted, from memory, £320ish. Obviously overheads are more in London so probably be going to Wayside with my own oil I think!

Dar208, if a BMW dealer did allow you to supply your own oil, we would check to ensure that the grade of oil you provided was correct and if it wasn't BMW approved then we'd let you know. At Sytner we either use Castrol’s or Mobil1 depending on the engine. If you like PM me your chassis and the grade of oil you were thinking of using and I’ll have it checked for you!

Flyfs6, cheers for that!

Donbona, I'll make some calls and am on standby if you need me

Thanks Anneka! I don't have my chassis number handy, but it's an e93 M3. The oil I've bought from Opie is the Castrol Edge 10-60 'for BMW M Series Engines'. 8litres for approx. £66

I shall be disappointed if it's the wrong oil!
