How much did you deposit?
A local BMW has a $5k deposit for the M, but they seemed to think $1k would suffice after some serious talk. Just wondering what you all are putting down for deposits on the new M.

Just curious, because I never deposited money for upcoming vehicles, if you deposit certain amount of money for upcoming vehicles like E92 M3, can you still get full amount of money returned even when the vehicle came to the dealer?
Hmmm...I wonder why that person deposited 5grand unless the amount of money that you deposited affect the position of your waiting status? (More you deposit, higher waiting status) |

If the amount you deposit affects your spot on the list than that is not a particularly honest dealer. I wouldn't want to do business with them.
I put down my deposit a few months ago. When I did so, I was told that I would be able to spec out the car how I like once they got their allotments. I was also told that I can get a full deposit refund at any point, even when the car comes in to the dealer. They said that they would have NO PROBLEM getting rid of the car if I decided it wasn't for me. |

I'd love to put down a deposit to hold an allocation slot for my new M3 but I just can't afford to put down $1K right now and leave it sitting for close to a year doing nothing. If this was about putting $1,000 down to grow for me in stocks, I'm all for it. I currently have about $8K in Apple's stock. Bought it at $37/share in April of last year and today it's at $87/share.

I live in Las Vegas, and the two local dealerships (owned by the same company) want a five thousand dollar minimum deposit. The salesman also said to expect a minimum 10,000 added mark up for the first six months or so. Needless to say, I told them to F.O. I'm #1 on the list for the e92 M3 in San Diego, with a one thousand dollar deposit. The dealer does not make a habit of marking up cars over MSRP, but they did mark up the only Alpina B7 that they received.
