370z
What do you guys think of the 370z? I haven't driven it yet, but I sat in it at the Auto Show and at a dealer. Pros: Nicer interior layout and appearance than the M3, seems like alot for the price and "manual" mode 7 speed. Cons: almost seems like a "wannabe" compared to the M3 and C63, not sure if the "manual" mode 7 speed is really a true manual like the DCT.
What are your opinions? Has anyone driven one yet?

haven't driven it yet, but i think it's gonna be bad a$$. don't know what you mean by "wannabe". Wanna be what (are you in hs)? it is wut it is...a freakin fast roadster. it has the g37 engine so it's gonna be quick. i really wanna try that rev matching manual. sounds pretty cool feature. look wise, looks weird (like the front headlights), but i've heard it looks much better in person.

I went to look at one the other day and it was very appealing except for the vampire teeth in the front.
Still the performance is hard to beat. |

The 370z is a huge improvement from the 350z. Also it has similar performance with the E46 M3. Looks like a great ride. I have to see one in person and drive it. Go to you tube there are a few videos there!!!!

The 370z is great and appeals to me far more than the 350z ever did. I like that they focused on decreasing the weight instead of trying to mask the weight added that most manufacturers do these days.
Excellent car for the money. |

By Wannabe I meant a vehicle trying to get into the upper ranks of our vehicles such as the M3 or 911. That is what I am asking here...is the 370z on par with the M3, S5, C63 and 911

If Sticky says it's good, then it must be good.

I owned 2 300 ZXs and they were great cars. The 350X was nice, but I didn't really grab my attention. Specs on the 370Z look great, but the car itself has been progressively getting uglier for some reason...

I own a 350z 6MT and a M3 DCT.. They are very different cars.. The manu-matic on the 350z was not a true manual at all and sucked.. I'm not sure of the one on the 370z.. The interior is definately a step down from the M3.. lots of rattles over time and cheap feel.. My 350z is heavily modified so I won't compare performance as I don't remember my Z as stock anymore.. There is HUGE and mature aftermarket support for the Z cars where everything costs about 3x less than M3 mods.. The M3 is currently my daily driver while the 350z is my weekend nice weather only car.. Choosing the best between the M and the Z to me is silly as they are such a different driving experience.. The Z is so raw and the M so much more refined. --mike |

No it's not, but it's pretty damn close. And it's not a wannabe. It's not even classified with those cars, nor does it market itself as such.

the car is a lot of fun, im struggling trying to fight the temptation to pick on up. i will most likely get one sometime in april
here's my review: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231241 no it's a full automatic not "real manual" like DCT (whatever that means) but it's nicer than DCT only in a sense that it will never shift up for u. but will shift down to prevent engine stalling. check out The370.com for info |

From what I have read in a couple mags, it is Cayman S performance for half the price.
