"while you're in there" rear subframe jobs

i'm going to bite the bullet and have a shop drop in the solid rear subframe bushings i bought on BF. i wanted to do it myself but just don't have the time for what I'm sure would be a 15+ hour job for me (book is 9).

so -- since most of the cost is in getting the subframe out, what else should I do? i'm running the 3DM dedicated track kit, and the car has upgraded sway bars already. i was going to do the subframe bushings, do a poly diff bushing, and was wondering if there any other components that are track-specific?

I recommend upgrading the short brake lines that are disconnected for the subframe removal to steel braided ones if you haven't done so already.

yeah, good reminder. that was on the list but i'd have forgotten.

Check subframe for any surface rust. Address it if there is.

I'm currently doing subframe bushing at home and I decided to send out my subframe for powder coating to prevent it from rusting in the future because I am not planning on taking out the subframe again.

Ever considered bumping up to M14 hubs like on newer M cars? Since you’re tracking the car it might be a good thing to farm off onto the shop since they’ll be pressing bushings in.

I wouldn't hub is a must do during subframe. The work can be done with the subframe installed. Probably easier to take off the axle nut with it attached to the diff and on the car. If you haven't broke any wheel studs on track yet then I wouldn't worry about it now.

I would say only sway bar and inner brake lines are best to do while subframe is out, which you have already done. So I would just make sure there's no rust on the subframe or address the rust if there is any, and call it a day.
