Maybe there was a mistake somehow on the website, and the 255/35/18 tires shouldn't have been $102? If so, I may have stolen these tires from Discount Tires.

But like I said before, each tire costs them $59. Might want to go to your local tire shop and have them price match if you still want the deal.

I called them to verify they have them in stock in the original size.

I just dropped them off with UPS to ship them back, so I'm going to place the order again and see what happens.

I feel like there are two adages at play here:

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"
"If it seems too good to be true, it probably is"

Guess I'll be getting something else.

I guess I'll have to be the sole Guinea pig for this. I doubt others on here would buy though, even if the tire does perform well.

Nankang NS-2R 180TW 255/35/18 for $102 each.

The person who was helping you is likely incompetent or doesn't know that they can be special ordered. Get in touch with a different America's Tire and/or speak to someone else/the manager. The manager I dealt with, who also gave me the $400 credit, told me he can get pretty much any tire I want. He couldn't get Federal RSRs because nationwide backorder, but he was able to get me the NS-2Rs direct from Nankang in California. In 255/35/18, 180TW was available immediately and 120TW was not available just yet, likely a one month wait. Mine still have not arrived..

So I had to call a different location to get the tires ordered, the guy at the first place I called was being difficult.

The guy at the location that was compliant was really surprised to hear that they are so low on Amazon. He told me their cost is $105 per. He was only willing to honor that price if it also included +$124 for mounting and balancing.

Whomever is at the counter at the shop when I pick them up is going to be surprised when I hand them the Amazon printout and drive off with the tires.

I have an independent race shop that does my mounting and balancing for far less, so I won't be having them do it.

If you have problems, you could try matching these prices. DT may factor in shipping costs though. Weird that the manager showed me his computer screen that displayed his cost of $59/tire, but your local store has a different price.

I'm willing to bet that the price difference is based on store location.

I was going to order some tires from Onlinetires, but Nankangs have a 3-6 week wait.

There are some discussion on Bridgestone S003 (Firehawk Indy 500) on the Tire forum. Looks promising.... For the price, cant go wrong. Just an FYI.

While I've decided to drive my competition tires year around except for winter, I'd rock a set of these to see if they as billed. The price is hella cheap.

Direct from Maxxis was the only source I found. Shipping is included in their price, and I believe you get a free t-shirt with your order!

Great thread!

I love the AD08R tire for it's flexibility but the Firehawks are looking like a cheaper alternative. The 300+ TW rating is making me believe grip levels won't be comparable

I didn't get the Amazon price, but I did manage to get them for $116 each.

Good enough for me.
