My question is along the lines of Epacy's. In your initial drive overviews here on the forum you were really gushing massive praise on the car. You also negated most of the criticisms comeing from other journalists, specifically on the steering. It does seem your overall tone has gone much less positive. You explained that a bit to E. but I did not get it "your circumstances changed...". What gives, do you still stand by all of your initial posts and thoughts? Thanks much.
My apologies Swamp, I missed your post.

My circumstances changing are more to do with the range of cars I have in my garage. I own an ML63 which has lost a ton of money and I was looking for something to double up as a family car and 'tempt' me away from my 500hp SUV. Also I wanted to replace my Z4M Coupe in September and could not find a dealer able to sell me an M3 any earlier than January '08. The timing was out, so I decided to postpone my M3 purchase until the CSL came out and buy something else in the meantime as another family wagon.

Since deciding I have had the opportunity to spend further time with the E92 M3, and would certainly have bought it if one had been available at the time, but I can't complain having driven hundreds of miles in them already.

Must be the October issue because my September issue didn't have anything on this competition.

Steve,
Do you prefer the steering of the E92 M3 over the RS4? I can't emphasize enough how nice it is to have a BMW enthusiast such as yourself posting objective information about the car after spending considerable time in it. Thanks.
