Jerez or jet black

Hello guys I know this has been discussed and battled over but let's give it one last round lol

What's nicer Jerez black or jet black?

Does the Jerez really look like blue under the sun?

Which would be more shinier and give it that wet look?

Which color will make women drop their panties when washed?

Thank you

I had the choice of Jerez black or jet black. I went with Jerez Black. Really sharp color. When it is sunny the car looks like it's navy blue mixed with a touch of purple. In the shade or right before sunset, given car is washed and decently waxed, I believe the car looks best- "the wet look"

Color

Ok…..just my 2 cents worth………I have Jerez Black with Bamboo interior and love it…….in the sun it looks deep blue…….not always easy to keep clean but when it is, there is no color better in my opinion.

Very true. I own both Jerez black M and another black vehicle. The Jerez black is harder to keep clean then my other black vehicle!

I have heard jet black is also a very soft paint and more prone to swirls and chipping than Jerez.

I think it truly depends on what you want, metallic or non metallic. Both are great colors.

Jet black looks down right sinister when it's cleaned up. Basically like a black mirror and very stealth.

Jerez black on the other hand doesn't quite have the same mirror effect but it bursts with a brilliant blue flake under the sun, and has hints of purple which I find very cool.

If it were me, I would go with a ZCP Jerez. It is the more beautiful color IMO, but jet black is the more aggressive color.

Here are some of my favorite pictures that showcase the Jerez.

I not sure that jb is softer. The clear coat is the same and it covers the color base coat. So really the clear makes it equal from what I've read. I have read here many times that jb is "soft" but I'm not sure where that adage came from.

The jzb is to me a less pretty blue hue than carbon black except under fluorescent lights but it's an interesting color. It can look violet under fluoro and brilliant navy under sun. In low light the least lit parts such as skirts and vertical panels can look devoid of all sparkle and look very flat and murky.

JB is always awesome too. I've got the jzb and I kinda like that it's one of the M only colors named after a track.

Paint mix for fun

Jerez Black
Paint Code - A73
Black 80%
Pearl Blue 7%
Dark Violet 5%
Light Pearl Blue 4%
Laser Green 3%
Pearl white 1%

I've personally seen both cars aside from each other and if you want that glass/mirror finish, jet black is the way to go. Although jet black is harder to maintain, the reward is greater IMO.

Love my jet black, it is a pain to keep clean but once it is, there's nothing better.

My last car M3 was jet black and now I have a Jerez black M3 and I'm going to have to say that the Jerez takes the cake for me. The blue really grows on you (I was searching for another jet black before buying this jzb)

TwinTurbs My previous E90 ZCP M3 was Jerez. My current E92 ZCP M3 is Jet Black.

In all honesty, you cannot go wrong with either. They are both exceedingly difficult to keep clean, but once clean, they look better than most anything.

I owned a jet black 335 and now the jerez m3. Jerez wins it for me and matches better with carbon fiber parts.

Jerez is far more eye-catching when it's clean and in direct sunlight. The metal flake is what stands out. As far as the shiny/wet look, that will mostly come down to how you wax or seal the paint.

Black cars are a real hassle to keep clean. I owned a black car once and vowed never to do it again.

It's all personal taste. You can't go wrong with either. My personal preference is Jet Black, I would not have settled for any other color.

Jerez is an amazing color I almost got JB/FR but I can't deal with the upkeep of dark paint.. Any swirls or dirt shows up so much and drives me insane.

Agreed. Can't warn you enough. If you can deal with dust on the rear bumper after one block of driving away from the car wash, get one of the two blacks. I made the biggest mistake getting JB. Only reason I did was it had an ESS kit on it. I have actively been looking at getting a new car ever since but I will say one thing,I will never own a black car again.

Also as for the posters saying nothing looks better than a clean black car, I respectfully disagree with this too

I've had 2 jet blacks e92's. Both times I seemed the color out, and then regretted it within months :/

It's soooo nice when clean or overcast. But in the direct sun it's just brutal.
