E92 "Blackline" Style Taillights

Notice these when shopping online.

I have OEM LCI tails on my car already, but curious how would these would look in person on the car.

Does anyone have these? I had blacklines on my E90 before and man I miss the look a lot...

I think these could look good on SG, but really need other mods to tie it in.

Would look good on dark colour cars in my opinion.

Blacklines

I bought my car almost one year ago - and I noticed the tail lights didn't look...stock. I eventually figured out what they are - they are the Blacklines (I'm pretty sure). Apparently all the rage about 9-10 years ago. I think you can still find them.

My E90 is an '08, so pre LCI. It has pretty dark window tint (it was a Texas car for a while), and the blacklines seem to work OK with that. All in all, they are pretty subtle, I think.

I think they would work on a post LCI E92 for sure.

Yeah thats what I'm thinking also but its hard to dump $400usd without having to see an acutal photo of it on the car.

Scott I had those on my PRE-LCI e90 also! Man I loved the look, but BMW does not make them for the E92. They only made blacklines available for the E90.

These ones that I have linked are aftermarket. Just curious to see if anyone has tried them before...

Saw these a few months back when I was thinking about having my LCI taillights opened up and professionally blacked out on the inside. The ones you posted as cheaper than the modification so I highly considered trying them out. But I'm with you, never seen on an actual car before. And I'm not sure how they will look on my Alpine White.

I have Blacklines on my F30 335 and they look soooo good. My car is Mineral Grey though and I think it looks better on darker colors. I imagine it might be the same with these...

I definitely want a lightly "smoked" look to my tail-lights as I have a SG coupe, but these lights in the link have a clear top which im not crazy about, kinda ricer indeed. I think, as noted above, having the originals opened up and pro-tinted is still the best looking option and most subtle.

Just wrap your taillights with a smoked vinyl. Aftermarket lights tend to leak

Like already said I believe these would look killer on SG and with Porsches having clear lights I think they won't be too ricey

I actually did this to mine just to see if I would like the light smoke look. Didn't want to commit to having my housings blacked out if I didnt like the overall look.
I still have the light smoke tint on them. They look more like a dark red than black, which I prefer.

I used VIVID VINYL's Air Release tint. They have 2 versions - light smoke and dark smoke. This is the light smoke film.

Pretty easy to install yourself. I'll actually be doing it on a buddy's M3 soon and will be making a DIY video on my YouTube channel (ACCELERATED MOTION).
