Next Generation BMW 1-Series ?
German magazine Automotorundsport ( http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/n...t-1244877.html ) has put out these new renders of what the next generation 1-series could look like. It seems as though these renders are WAY off the reality of what will come. Most sources seem to confirm that the next one will take alot of styling cues from the BMW GINA concept car in some form, while these renders seem to rely on the current BMW 7-Series styling. Regardless, it did seem like an interesting attempt and worth the post.

Meh - the more I look at the first view the worse it looks. The front is a mess. The converging lines on the hood are really bad and the gaping maw under the bumper just says, "ah, we ran out of time", even though it makes the grilles look too small.

If the BMW design engineers and those that approve the designs were really smart, they would redesign the 1-series to be more like a "mini 3-series." At least, redo the 135i/128i's "look" of the older E46 to be more like the "look" of the E92, imho. I hope that rendering is WAY off, b/c it's just

the current 1 series is pretty ugly, along with the X3 (slightly better after the refresh).
I actually enjoy the front design of this rendering, it at least got rid of the surprised Pokemon-look headlights that are on the current 1.
