Back in the Market...

Well, after having sold my E92 M3 a few years ago, I'm back in the market for a 2010-12 white, LCI E92 M3 black interior with CF roof, EDC and M button - preferably individual stereo -- if anyone wants to divest themselves. By the way -- if the person who purchased my old E92 M3 (last 7 of VIN: PY38937) wants to sell it back to me, please PM me. I'd love to buy it back since I know how well it was treated, nay... babied... up to, at least, 90,000km.

Anyways, it looks like I sold at the nadir of the market in Oct 2017; and prices appear to be sticky if not going up *sigh*.

Offer 10k less for the same spec but bypass the white duco, then wrap it in white for 3k and spend the rest on bits to move it away from the boring stock setup.. Wasn't there 62 on the market last week. Thats decent pond to fish if you keep an open mind and I would not be entertaining msrp pricing.

Thanks. It was pampered with BE bearings, updated reduction gears on the throttle actuator... *sigh* I loved that car, even with two small scratches in the CF roof

They're going very quickly, particularly the low miles.

A 2015 i8 pearl white with blue highlight. Lovely car. At the time couldn't afford both; now can.

I spent years searching for a car (not a BMW) that I sold and regretted. When I located it, the current owner had dismantled it and disposed of all the good parts. Whilst it was a bad outcome, it was better knowing so I could stop searching. At least yours should still exist somewhere.

Back in 'the old days' before the extreme focus on personal privacy, you slip someone in the motor registration branch a carton of beer and get an address to follow up.

Ah, tried but a closed club and they want the VIN. Was tempted to put in my old VIN, but that goes against the grain.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Selling my 2011 M3 E92 as well

I'm also selling my immaculate 2011 M3 E92 Pure Edition.

Currently, it is advertised on carsales for $54,888. It has around 63,333 KM on it.

It does have carbon fibre roof but no m-button or edc. I didn't know that was a thing for some owners until after I had bought it.

I'm only getting rid of it this cheap as I am illegally parking my replacement vehicle in my neighbours carspace as I only have one carspace at my apartment.

Had a few people view it and were interested up until they either brought their wives with them or spoke to their wife afterwards.

If you guys know of anyone that would be interested, let me know. Thank you!

Sorry to say mate but your advertised price is definitely not cheap, especially without EDC and M-button. And hence why it hasn't sold yet. Swap the "5" with the "4" and it will sell.

I agree, it would definitely sell in the forties, but I got offered 57,000 earlier and accepted but the wife pulled the plug on that one, another one offered 55,000, again another wife got involved and diverted to the idea of a Lexus SUV. Just trying to get above 52,000 as it was the Tesla quoted trade-in price but they would not budge above 52,000 due to their "margins" with their wholesaler. I just wanted above 52,000 as a private sale. Given it is sold with a tax invoice, I will have to pay the GST anyway, so the purchaser can claim it on their business if they have one and will be under 50,000's in the forties. I just looked at all the M3's for the current KM and year range, I'm still by far the cheapest. The other pure editions are around 65,000 and not selling.

For me it's trying to get back to what I had, or as close as possible. As it is, it looks like I've found what I'm after... more on that later.

The CF roof is important to some, but can be an overhead. On my old one I had two minor scratches that couldn't be repaired whereas a normal roof would be easier. I have to admit I'd be hard pressed to tell any difference between the EDC settings, but the M button allows MDM and sports plus steering; both of which I enjoyed thoroughly. Finally, the individual stereo system was very good, particularly with the speakers under the front seats. "I Heard it Through The Grapevine" by Creedence just sounded awesome. Not sure what the other stereo options are like.

And heated seats. I live in Canberra. Once your butt's become accustomed to heated seats in winter there's no going back

Tend to agree. Looks like you've got a fogged up headlight too, friend of mine had that happen on his 09 only a few weeks after purchase last year and it set him back about $4k for a new light

Don't know about other buyers, but like the OP, I wasn't interested in a car that lacked M Drive, EDC and either HK or Individual Audio. I also wanted heated seats, something a lot of later M3s don't have.

OK - well found it and picked it up today. Lots of good stuff and mechanically sound. I'll be converting the exterior trim back to original over the next 3 years... although I do like the darkened grill and the CF accents do work well with the black wheels.

It's already had VAC RB's with ARP bolts; updated reduction gears in TA; and changed engine mounts... so my first six months of mods down the drain

On the way to Canberra to get a clean up...

That's not far off your previous one! And with the mechanical stuff done, you've saved yourself a lot of hassles. I'd just keep all the added/changed carbon cosmetics - it is de rigueur after all .....

Yes, it has grown on me. Driving around, I'd forgotten how much of a challenge this car is to other drivers. Got zoomed by today -- just one day -- by Audi RS5, 2 xGolf GTI and 1xSkoda Octavia... of course, it could just be normal Canberra traffic -- it's difficult to tell sometimes
