New Guy

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to say a friendly hi, just joined the forum. I'm 24 and live in the Bronx NY. Have been a huge bmw fan my entire life, and finally worked my way to being able to afford the new M3.

As sort of a newbie (never having previously owned an M car or gone through the process of purchasing one), I actually have a few questions.

Do you guys think it is better for me to wait until the end of the year and go for an 08' E92 M3, or should I wait for the 09'. I know a bunch of dealers have 08's sitting around..... Will the 09' be difficult to get for a fair price, given that BMW is expected to once again raise prices due to the difficult economic conditions plaguing the US?

I think I am going to buy it, however, would you guys recommend leasing or not....i know the money factors and residuals on the new M3 are pretty bad right now, but do you think there will be any significant changes in the near future?

Thanks for the input!!! Great to be a part of the forum.

Mike

welcome,

1) I'd buy it if you're thinking about holding on to it for a little while
2) Some people are going to say wait for the '09 but honestly youre not losing out completely springing for the '08

I'm waiting for an 09 sedan only because I can't find an 08 configured the way I want. IMHO the 08s are a very good bargain right now, and will only get better over the next month or so.

If you can find an 08 configured the way you want it, buy it. You should be able to get at least $5k off of sticker. You might even see some incentive interest rates applied to the M3 in a few days.

Mike, its really up to you at this point. I'd steer you towards an 09 because we are less than a month away from 09 builds. Yeah, the 09 MSRP is going to go up, but not astronomically. It is probably true that you can get a good deal on an 08 at this point, but you might not be able to find what you want.

Can't help you with the leasing thing...I don't know jack about MF and residuals.

Good luck and welcome!

Thanks for the input guys, I probably will just wait for the 09' then, as Big Windy said, we are only a few weeks away from the 09 builds, that way I can configure the M3 the way I want.
