The only point of getting an Audi is for its Quattro system. Otherwise it's just another run of the mill FWD vehicle a la Toyota.

A6es are not bad, but not exactly fantastic either. The switchgear feels like it was designed 20 years ago. It's got vague steering and the suspention, while comfortable on the highway, manages to pass all the jolts but the car keels over at the first sign of a corner.

It's much better than an A4, but you won't enjoy driving it as much as a BMW.

riiight.

Anyway, I had a fwd B6 A4. I live in socal and there is barely any rain, so quattro isn't necessary. Would I have rather had quattro? Definitely. Is it a must? That's up to you.

I like the C6 A6's, but I'm not a fan of the C5.

Torque steer, massive understeering, more front tire wear...oh wait, you said ADVANTAGES.

Nevermind.

good for snow I guess... quattro should just be standard anyway or they should switch over to rear wheel drive

FWD Advantages:
- cheaper (than equivalent RWD platform)
- for non-enthusiast driver, easier to predict at the limit (understeer)
- better traction in snow than a RWD

If you couldn't care less about how a car drives...but want something German, looks good and is safe...get an Audi FWD.You'll save thousands compared to a BMW

However, I keep hearing complaints about Audi having long term reliability problems (usually electrical) tho.

Better gas mileage. Less drivetrain loss. Faster from a roll.

It would not be a sin to get a FWD Audi. However, I would suggest that it would not be desirable either....

No need to worry about torque steer with Audi's 3.2
