Don't like riders? LOL A good friend of mine has had a few bikes & I will get 1 eventually, but thanks for ASSuming, tool.

I call bs on you.
You're the one 'ASSuming', geezus. Let me guess you haven't read ANY of my posts in this thread? I'm the one preaching wearing gear all the time, starting slow on a bike, not riding like a jackass, etc etc.

combining this with the fact you're not even addressing what I called BS to, which further cements the fact that your 'statistic' is 100% bs. There is no way that over 50% of ALL bikers you see are riding like assholes. If you truly believe that, then you really need to be paying more attention. The fact that the riders that you REMEMBER are the ones riding like assholes, doesn't mean that the majority are.

It also helps that motorcycles get into HOV lanes with only a single rider
yep, most of the idiots end up in hurt or dead at some point.

and the combination of HOV and ability to park almost anywhere is an awesome combination

Actually as much as I like motorcycles

75% of the people that I see on sport bikes ride like asshats.

The Harley guys and the cruisers take it easy and just chill out. They're loud but they're chill.

I still really want to learn how to rode one though

Motorcycles are vehicles on the road as well. There are plenty of drivers that drive like ass holes as there are riders. Pointing fingers and being bitter towards one another just shows one kind of ignorant person you are. If you hate motorcycles so much stay out of the thread. Whining and bitching just shows how much of an ass you really are. Arguing on the internet is like the special olympics. Even if you do win, you're still retarded.

Don't make that assumption/generality either.
My three main enjoyment reasons for riding:
1) Wind/acceleration
2) Acceleration
3) white lining up to a stoplight, getting to the front, then Accelerating off the line in front of everyone else.

I personally prefer the HP2 Sport. Not the sewing machine power of inline-fours but lots of class, cachet, and hand-built exclusivity.

I like the lines on that HP2, but the engine just sticks out so far. And I've never been that fond of the half-fairing bikes. I like full fairing or naked. If i was going to get a naked bike, it would have to be the Ducati Streetfighter. So badass!

That's because Harley guys can't take it hard due to equipment limitations and generally excessive body fat.

Ok imna chime in to help with the questions a little

In case any1 is wondering. The meaning of the term "SQUID".

Bikers use the term "SQUID" to describe inexperienced riders on fast bikes that ride reckless. This comes from the military derogatory term "squid" to describe Navy sailors.

We use squid because in the Navy, sailors usually stay out at sea for months at a time or even up to a year or longer if on mission. While on the boat, they don't have much opportunity to spend money as almost everything is provided for by the military. So when they dock, they receive a lump sum of salary for the whole year.
What do you do if you are single, young, horny, been going no faster than 30mph for the past year, and has 30K cash?

You buy a 1000cc SS bike. This is usually an impulse purchase and alot of them ride before they even get a license and they ride dumb, they ride fast but not skilled and they don't wear much protective shit.

So this is where the term comes from, but we use it to describe all noobs who thinks he is hotshit and rides like the Doctor right out of the gate. and also people that think CCs mean everything.
In motorcycle, the true motor is in the rider. I've seen 250s lap 1000s on the track.

you can remember it like this

Stupid
Quick
Underdressed
Imminently
Dead

I've always been a sport bike guy, mostly japanese bikes. But I think Harley has come a long way to tailor their bikes to a wider demographic. This is my dream bike at the moment. Love that fat front tire. The damn tank is too small though. At 48MPG, it will only go 100 miles.

It's the Forty-Eight.

You can replace that peanut tank with any number with higher capacity, to stretch your tour. But how far is it really from one bar to the next?

It is a very flickable bike considering the cylinder issue (scraping or even a low side will lead to costly repair bills). Despite that, the biggest problem I've always had with the Boxer twin is heat. It really doesn't matter where you ride. If it's anything above a 70 degree day, the heat from those cylinder heads will be washing into your legs. With or without gear, it isn't unbearable but it does become an annoyance that can be distracting.

If you want character, torque, and a similar power band to the japanese bikes with full fairings, look into an Ducati 848 or a 675 Daytona. Honestly the HP2 is a great bike for what it is and the boxer twin will last forever, but in the market that its designed for, you can have much better for the same cost if not less.

Love the RR. Test rode a 2011 and have a 2012 in my crosshairs. My ZX-6R has been a pain....and I bought it new.
