M3 dealer in Canada

Am about to place an order for a 2010 M3 for European Delivery in June. Dealer here in Halifax not budging much on price. Anyone know of a good Canadian dealer to work with?

Good luck

The dealers in Canada cut the deals on M3's and also cut stock back in '09

On this exclusive car you're gonna pay almost full pop

Sorry, BMW Canada is really cranking up the margins to maintain value

Yup. In 2009, the best deals ever were on the 2008 models. Can't believe I got 20k off my E93. Talk about good timing!

Values on the '08 and '09s are already dropping fast with the 2011s around the corner so I suspect maybe even the new '10s will be had for good discounts later this year if you're patient. The only problem for us Canadians is that our stock is much smaller than our southern friends but with currency parity once again almost here you'll be able to get great deals in the US if you want to go that route too. Any of these guys up here that purchased the '08 or '09 close to MSRP will get hit hard on trade, I suspect, and looking around on the Trader sites it seems to already be happening. There is/was a loaded '08 with sub 20K KM asking 58,xxx and think maybe they got mid 50s on trade. That was a 85K car only 20 months ago!

I live in Calgary, and I was in the same situtation as you were. Looking for a m3 and trying to get a deal. I talked to every dealer on the west coast of Canada and none of them would budge on the new 2009 m3 in 2009. They could give you a deal on the demo models but boy, they would not budge. After a couple of weeks I kept on annoying Patrick at Edmonton BMW and he called me back and said "ok man what the hell do you want?" I said "5k". He told he told me come in 2 days and she would be ready. I think the best you could get is 5k. It took me well over a month to get this price. A fair deal all dealers could do is 2k off. The dealers are very strict on the price for the M3.

I hope my $0.02 helps. Call Patrick up at BMW Edmonton and say that I referred you (my name is Sandy) to him.

Good deals in E-town, I am shocked

I got $10k off in Nov '08, those days are long gone, and 1% financing

I guess keep hassling people

There is a Dakar Yellow Special Edition at Edmonton BMW, sure looks purdy...

Thanks a lot for the info. Very helpful.

Will probably get 2k off here. Want to pick up the car in Munich and use it for a vacation so will probably not get a better deal than that. If it were not for that, I would definitely go stateside for a deal.

Did any of you get the service plus offering? For around 2k for 5 yrs/96k do you think it is worth it?

Definitely get it, a set of brakes will pay for this!

And if you sell your car earlier, you can sell it for more since you have this maintenance package already on the vehicle!

Cheers!

Good Luck on your ED!

Didnt get the Dakar price. I'll take a look this week. It is the special edition too. The stitching looks great

I live in Halifax and bought my '08 from the new dealer in Moncton near the end of '08. I was able to jump on the fantastic financing, take advantage of the factory to dealer incentive, plus I negotiated a much better discount with them then the guys @ Halifax BMW would ever consider. All told it was about a $10k discount. When I spoke with the Sales Manager @ Halifax BMW, he didn't even try to win my business.

I've known the owner and sales people @ Halifax BMW for many years and I would sooner walk to New Brunswick, Quebec, or Ontario, and buy a car there than hand over a single dollar of my money to the guys here.

Give BMW Moncton a call, ask for Marius Page, and tell him Alex sent you. If you haven't spoken to them yet you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Let us know how it works out for you.

BMWs are generally cheaper in Ontario then other provinces because of the volume we see.
I looked from coast to coast to find my M3, and there were much better deals and more selection in Ontario then anywhere else in the country.

Shipping is pretty cheap too these days, especially by train.

I don't want to turn this thread into a slam against Halifax BMW. I've had almost nothing but bad experiences there on all fronts I've dealt with them and won't shy away from telling people about them directly. If you want to know more, feel free to PM me.

Halifax BMW

hate to also badmouth a dealer so publicly, but I would say I had less then stellar experience at Halifax BMW. Some their fault, some perhaps just unlucky.... but I'm glad for the competition in Moncton. If I didn't love the 3-series so much I would definately never buy one again based on the dealership experience.
