Yup, your E36 was thoroughly looked after! I'm sure the S3R was too, my friend or I are interested in the motor so you already know.

I’m not sure.

They have specific bearings depending on the year the stroker was manufactured. They’ve seen very little wear, if any, with the mileage I’ve had.
Chris MacNaughton had to discuss the appropriate bearings with Steve Dinan before they shipped them to me.
If there was no wear on the first one, i would have left them.

The reason I was doing it, was the oil pan drain plug needs to be fixed. I was going to remove the pan and weld a proper plug fix. So, while I’m there....check out the bearings and post results.
The Carrillo rods reuse their on bolts, each one identified with a code for proper torque specs.
Only Steve Dinan would know the clearances for that particular motor.

I didn’t want this thread, or my integrity, to be diverted into some conspiracy theory!

I had an oil analysis done when I first got the car, and it was bizarre! CarBahn said to do another one at a regular interval, and it was fine...
Fast forward, oil plug pooched.
I decided to remove the oil pan and weld the plug properly, and while at it, inspect and/or replace bearings.
I like piece of mind, especially on a $25,000US engine... !
Clevite-Dinan Bearings only $500..

Every step of the way was in consultation with Chris MacNaughton, David Kim and Steve Dinan.

And here we are....

To the doubters, I have a stroker myself and you can be damn sure I will replace the rod bearings before long.
I couldn't care less how 'fixed' they are due to the stroker. When you spend insane amounts of money you aren't too concerned about a $1k rod bearing job

Skepticism, i can deal with...

It’s the unfounded accusations from the people who aren’t interested in buying anything, but ruin for other parties.

I had to pull off the oil pan to fix drain bung, so what’s $500 on a $25,000 engine ....with core...
Those Dinan brakes surprised me, taxes in, 14gs ! CAD...

It wears very well, but then it’s only 2 years old tops!
I covered it over the winter to protect it from winter, children, and dog..

I like it much better than stock.
