Wheel And Tire question

Hey guys,

I just have a question regarding fitment on my E90 M3. I have work vsxx wheels. The specs are 19x9.5 and 19x10.5. The offset is 19. What kind of tires and what tires can I run? Preferably the biggest, most aggressive sized tire.

Thank you!

While I will defer the wheel & tire experts here, I would think you could run 265s up front and 285s out back without issue. You might be able to plus those up to 275/295 but I am not familiar with 19mm offset and how that will effect clearance inside and outside of each corner. Another piece of info that group will want to know is ride height and suspension set up (stock vs lowering springs vs full coilovers).

Thanks a lot for the information. I'd like to lower it, haven't decided on what I'm going to lower it with. I'd like to be at least 285s in the rear. If I could do 295s that'd be great.

I'm thinking of h&r springs but if there's a more recommended coilover I'm open to suggestions. Thanks a lot everyone

Make sure you change your rod bearings before your new wheels blow up your motor....

You can do 295/30 in the back but I wouldn't recommend it. I debated doing huge sizes for awhile but ended up going 255/35 and 275/35. In order to get the grip I wanted I got ad08r's and from a 3500rpm launch I get no tire spin and probably a 0-60 in the low 4's or even below. Stiffer sidewalls feel much better than the oem tires.

Note: I rubbed for a few days on them...I am lowered. Doesn't rub anymore haha

Do you think a 285/35 would rub? With the offset being 19. I'm more worried about the front. I got a flat tire and I put stock m5s wheels that I had laying around. And they rub 255/40/19

285/35 will rub in the rear.

I went with dparm's setup and no regrets

But then a 285/30 wouldn't? So the issue is the aspect ratio?

The other piece of the puzzle is brand of tires you chose because not all 265/35 : 285/35 tires are the same between brands. Some have a more square profile than others and will rub with aggressive offsets and lowering.

Lot's of good info here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475902

Check the Wheel & Tire Section. It's there for a reason.
