The slonik saga continues for me.

The calipers I had I wasnt happy with the logo (I asked for red they were delivered more like a orange colour) he didnt offer me any assistance after waiting 4 months for them. I decided to sell them then buy a 2nd set which he was going to engrave and powdercoat the logo in red but after 6 months never delivered with no excuse even to this day

I sold my original calipers, now the buyer has issues fitting them the pad clashes on the caliper mount/brackets..

(see how the right pad doesn't sit into position properly like the left pad)

(right pad is clashing with caliper mount)

Had to get a machine shop mill out a relief for pad clearance. This is ridiculous considering this is a pnp kit and it wasnt exactly cheap.

I think it's a good thing that he's been blocked from this forum so this shonkster doesn't waste other people's time and rob them of their hard earned money for his poorly manufactured kits (that's if they ever received them!)...

Seems more like an install issue. Mine went on no problem

That sucks. I would imagine Slon ran one batch of brackets that were all the same. Mine was plug and play, no bracket modification needed.

Regardless, you've gone through enough regarding these brakes, sorry you ran into more issues.

Is this person running the 380mm F8x rotors? If so, he needed to use the included spacers.

Is he using the correct brake pad size?

Edit: That brake pad shape looks like it's for the 380mm setup. Pad shape D1426, so make sure it's getting installed on a 380mm rotor with the bracket spacers. Your second picture should show a spacer between the caliper and bracket.

He use to offer all kits as a modular bracket, this had a spacer which allowed you to run either 360mm or 380mm rotors.

I specified i was using 380mm F8X ///M rotors and he sent these brackets which he said wont require any grinding etc they'll fit better for 380mm rotors

My apologies for all the whinging guys, but yeah in all my years of being on this platform I havent struck a vendor like this.

The calipers are beautiful just the mounts and terrible service has really let me down..

I am sure his work is outstanding, but haven't ever received my parts, I cannot share that sentiment.

yes, besides the random poor pad fit, brackets that might need more machining, random washers needed to align calipers, and the likelihood of getting ghosted by this dude for about six months while he sits on your cash, they are great!

I dont understand the point in buying his makeshift BBK when you can get a Stoptech kit for not much more.

I have his DCT pan and luckily it showed up in a timely manner and its a very nice product. But his lack of communication is an absolute joke.

Slon Front BBK: $1700
Stoptech ST40 front: $2800
Stoptech ST60 front: $3400
Brembo GT 6 piston front: $4500

If you consider $1100 "not much more", then yes, it doesn't make sense to buy this kit over the stoptech ST40 kit.

ST40 kit is on Bimmerworld right now for $2200 shipped and the Slon kit doesn't include new rotors does it?

In defense of my decision. I didn't have any fitment issues, no extra funny parts and the pads fit perfectly. Also I get my rotors from fcp euro so they are free (plus shipping).

No defense for slon. The guy is a good example of why sales people aren't always the smartest or most skilled, but they make the most money. This world runs on interpersonal skills.

Shop around a bit more as nobody should be buying at those list prices. I recently ordered a new ST60 for less than that ST40 price. The difference between Slon and ST40 sale prices are much closer than 1100 and you don't have to wait as long.

so about $500 (less than that after rotors) for a crucial safety part from a ghost with a track record of sending janky parts that don't fit correctly.

i don't think i've ever seen a more poorly executed critical safety product on these forums. he makes great dct pans, he should stick to that. if i had to guess, he's pairing calipers from cars he thought to be compatible. however, small changes to the model were made and the oem spec for the caliper changed ever so slightly.
