Make sure after you trim the dust shield and fit the new rotor, check for clearance. The remainder of the dust shield will need bending back away from the rotors still.. only on the rear I believe. No need to ask me how I found that out.

ugh, on my e30 i had to trim the dust shield about 5x, what a PITA. crazy thing is it cleared off the floor, but when the suspension was loaded up the control arm ball joint was pushing the shield into the rotor.

Got an alignment for my new suspension. I gave them specs which included -1.8deg camber in the rear, and when I arrived for pickup I was told they could only get -1.6... of course we all know rear camber on a slammed E9X M3 maxes out at much more than the 1.8 I requested. Luckily, he double checked at my request and realized that he had a mixup under there and adjusted to the correct spec. This was at the top alignment shop in the Seattle area, so it goes to show that small errors happen to the best.

new 275/30 & 285/30’s put on the 19x10 359m’s today.

back story:

took the car to work yesterday and on my way home on the highway I get a RR tire low message. I pulled over and the tire was pissing air and was becoming flat quickly so I nursed it to the nearest tire shop which happens to be a huge chain in the northeast.

these wheels came with 265/35’s and I’ve been wanting to switch it up since I got them so I figured it would be the best time to do it. I fill out the form requesting to call me in the morning with a price on 275 & 295/30 Michelin and Contis and put it in the drop box.

I get a call first thing this morning from the most incompetent guy I’ve dealt with in a long time. He first says that he cannot get the tires that I am requesting because his computer tells him they are not the correct spec, and that they will blow my transmission, then proceeds to tell me that my car is too low for the alignment rack and would not believe me when I told him it’s on stock suspension. I told him to forget it and to not touch the car I am on my way to pick it up.

I get there and of course I get the guy that I talked with on the phone, he wanted to show me his point and I kindly said don’t worry about it, I already have the tires I want ordered and I’m bringing the car to my friends shop (which I should’ve done in the first place) but he insisted on showing me his computer and how it says he can’t get these sizes for my car and then says he can get me 265/35 Michelin all-seasons in a few days for $1,400 without an alignment LOL. I said again, I already got what I wanted please give me my key and he says okay but you’re going to “blow your tranny!” I said I promise you that will not happen and he yells I promise you it will! I said okay well when it happens I’ll bring the car to you idiots so you can fix it and I walked out.

I can’t believe the stupidity coming from such a large chain of tire shops and to think these people are taking people’s money every single day not to mention raping them in costs. the car is now back home with a fresh set of meat on the zcp’s and it looks and feels great.

Put on these mismatched sparco shoulder pads on my schroth harnesses for my mismatched recaro seats.. it's just a party in there! Ordered a euro split alcantara mismatched armrest too to really tie it all together! Lol... the reds are actually a real good match despite what the pic shows.. I wanted red schroth pads with no yellow but they're NLA.. so went with sparco since the alcantara will match the new armrest..

Gas price hit $1.709 per litre today in Vancouver. That is roughly almost $5us per gal..... for regular. Can't wait to find out how much 94 is.
... that would be $6.47 cdn per US Gallon for regular gas.

Max it's time to get a Nexus card and start getting your fuel in the US.
While you're down there, head to Bellingham and have a run on Chuckanut Drive if you haven't already. It's a sweet drive especially in the morning before it gets busy.

.75 USD per 1 CAD conversion makes it $4.85 USD.

That's what I do. I have a Nexus card so I get gas on D street in Blaine. It's normally 3.75 to 3.99/gal. It takes me 20KM to get from the gas pump to back to my house

Oil change. Nasty looking oil in there, happy to replace it.

Next up is a nice wash when I get my foam cannon in tomorrow

Buuuuuuut aren’t you using 2 gallons of gas round trip? The price difference would have to be more than $7.50

It costs me $80CDN to get a full tank in the US. Last time I got gas here it was a little over $105cdn for a full tank. Besides normally I take two 25L/6.6Gal Jerry Cans, filling those two with my car costs me $130cdn-$135cdn and lasts like 2-3 weeks

Also my Alpine tune is setup for 92 Octane

The lips are finally done!

Hoping to get the re-assembled wheels back next week and then off to slap some fresh Pirellis on
