Need a new 2015 X3 key fob

Hey all! I was an idiot and put my fob through the wash - called the dealer and it's like 600$ for a new one. I saw that Bimmer Tech sells them for 425$ - has anyone use them before? Apparently they can program it just by using my VIN from the vehicle. Any other suggestions? I tried rice :/ I live in Canada.

Try Silica Gel Desiccants -- works much better than rice and you can order it from Amazon.

It happened Sunday, worked for 2 days, and then stopped Wednesday...I think I might be past the point of no return!

This is going to sound crazy but take out your battery and wash it under bottled water to clean off any detergents or residue that may have dried on the chip board. After, shake off as much water from the fob as you can and then do what jkoral said. Worse case, your fob toast. Best case, it may come back to life. Replace it with a new battery too.

This is what you can do, buy a blank keyfob without programming on it on Amazon and find a electronic or computer repair shop have them replace the keyfob chip from you old one to the new one.
