You would probably would want to go with a 18" wheel, there will be more sidewall and more bite as well. The Nitto NT05Rs are a real good D/R. I would probably go with a 285/40/18. The Nitto D/Rs run a little narrow but when heated stick real well. You also have to heat cycle them a few times.

For starters go with an 18" wheel. Hoosier, Mickey Thompson, and M&H racemaster all have very good dr tires. On my stang, hoosiers were actually the best tire I had... pulled a 1.49 short on those

I have a pair of M&H's that hooked very hard. Used them 2 times. I'm actually selling them, PM me if you're interested! M&H Racemaster 275/45/18 Pretty much brand new. Have 60 miles of road driving (to and from track) and 3 passes on them (no burnouts)

I ran nitto nt555r 285/40/18. Wider isn't better with DR's, actually its worse. Your on very sticky compound so a narrow tire will hook just as good while the wider tires will slow you down. I never ran better than 1.7 60fts while VF ran 1.6 and they ran the MT ET streets. I'm switchin to MT ET Street 265/40/18, these are the best tires period for our car! On my record run, I broke loose between 1st and 2nd. With better tires my new GTS DCT software, I know 10.5 is attainable in cold temps

Track prep determines if you will hook. I went last week and I was spinning in 3 gears and all I could turn was 11.7 @ 127 1.9 60ft. Start your psi at 25 and heat them up. I usually end up around 15-18psi

There's one track that's going to open up soon that will be prep well but the other one that's open now is only ok I think. What time u think I should be able to run? I'm hoping for a 1.5 60foot but that's a hard task!!

I never came close to 1.6 and I launched hundreds of times, many of them perfect launches with zero wheelspin at 5500! All of my 10.6-10.8 runs were 1.7. I think what held me back was the tires where too wide and slightly too tall. The MT 265/40/18 would have helped. You won't see 1.5.....

They hook well. Sometimes I run my Morr 19 wheels with 265/295 R888. Lower psi in rear to 25 to start. Lower out LC to lowest rpm setting to start

Nice!^ your cars fast, Yup MT 265/40/18 is the way im go'n to go. 1.5 will be tough, my mustang did 1.5's/1.6 with a built 351 roller windsor but it was a torque monster on real(non/radial) street ET's with a 5 speed, wheels at like 9psi (they had to be screwed) it did only run in the low 11's tho.

If you want to see 1.4-1.5 60ft, you will have to modify the rear brakes so you can fit a smaller rim and go with full slicks. Personally, I wouldn't go that far with this car. I was close to running a full slick on 17's but decided against it for its to much pressure on axles and the DCT/Diff

Adding a question to an older thread....

Are there any issues / concerns (aside from looking goofy), running the OEM 19's upfront, with an 18" DOT drag radial on the back?
