Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, before I pull the trigger, could you share pics with a space grey (or any grey) E92 with the polished EC7 please?

I have a silverstone e92 comp pack with black zcp wheels. The polished EC7R looks so good I wanna change my car colour just so it goes together.
Thank you

Hey everyone, does anyone have photos of the EC7R in bronze on a Jerez Black e92? Need to decide between that and the silver that I know will go well with the car. Thanks!

I haven't been able to find any cars on our Flickr page with this paint combo. I'll keep an eye out though!

Take a look at the coolest BMW 320d we've seen. Our friends at PipeWerks in Thailand sent in some awesome photos of their Bangkok Cabbie Green 320d to M3 conversion sporting a set of APEX ARC-8 wheels in Anthracite with red APEX center caps. The end goal is to swap in an S65 or maybe even an S85. We weren't sure if we should post this in the M3 or 3 series gallery thread, but since it looks like an M3 and has an M3 wheel fitment, we decided this was more appropriate.

APEX Wheel Fitment Specs:
  • Front: 18x9.5 ET22 with 275/35-18 Continental ExtremeContact tires
  • Rear: 18x10.5 ET27 with 295/35-18 Continental ExtremeContact tires
Suspension/Alignment:
  • Koni FSD
  • Front camber -1.8°
  • Rear camber -2.0°

Can anyone at Apex confirm these wheels/specs by the cast marks?

Front looks to be an EC7 18x9.5 unsure on offset I assume ET22 as there is a 22 stamped
Rear seems to be an EC7 18x10.5 I assume an ET27 as that is the only option and there is a 27 stamped

You nailed it on the head!

The first wheel is a 18x9.5" ET22 and the second wheel is a 18x10.5" ET27.

Ok great, thanks! They are a second hand set I'm thinking of buying and the guy doesn't know who made them. I assumed they were EC7's from the photos and sizes.

Do the fronts rub at full lock without spacers? Thinking of going 18x10.5J ET22/27 but they don't have matte bronze finish as an option so also looking at 18x10J ET25. Will be track use only.

Hi there,

The 18x10" ET25 square setup with 275/35-18 tires will be a direct fit without any rubbing on a stock E9X M3. The 18x10.5" ET22/27 square setup will typically require camber plates and additional negative camber to alleviate any rubbing that can occur under suspension compression.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out!

Any pictures of 19x9/19x10 ARC-8's on stock tire sizes? A Space Grey on Black would be awesome!

Unfortunately I couldn't find any pictures with the OEM tire sizes. If you look at post 319 in this thread, that car is running the OEM comp package tire sizes albeit with spacers front and back.

Any rubbing in the rear with this exact setup? Generally a 295 tire with a 22 offset is very tight. Would love to hear back on this.

I don't have info on this exact setup, but judging from the photos, he is running a decent amount of rear camber. From our experience, a 295 on a 10.5" ET22 rear wheel is often a direct fit. In some cases, the rear bumper bracket bolt may need to be shaved down a bit or a touch of negative camber may be needed if using aggressive compounds that tend to run wide.

Ian,

A quick question. A 9.5" et 22 wheel sit further out than a 10" et 25 correct? Wheel width shouldn't effect et right?

The 10" ET25 wheel will actually poke about 3.35mm more than the 9.5" ET22. If you were to compare a 10" ET25 and a 9.5" ET25 wheel, the 10" ET25 would poke 0.25in. further on the outside edge of the car as that extra 0.5in. is added on both sides of the wheel.

Since the 9.5" wheel in question has a lower ET22 offset, when comparing poke, you would assume the 10" ET25 wheel poked an additional .25in. (or 6.35mm) and then subtract 3mm for the higher offset. This would then give you:

6.35mm - 3mm = 3.35mm

A better way to go about this is to use the calculator linked below and set the tire size to be the same. It also provides a good visual representation to aid in making sense of it.

Will They Fit?

-Ian
