Having bantered back and forth with my SA yesterday, this is an excerpt of an email that I received from him yesterday. It's Cut and pasted verbatim so forgive the grammatical errors in the response from BMW Canada:
"The WS price of the comp pack on M3 Sed is $5,185 (+$400 special order fee). Probably the customer is referring to the M3 Cou Competition Edition in which we included a nominal price (WS) of $3,550 for the comp pack, however, only as part of the Edition. Mostly, we kept the portion of the comp pack at a lower price to allow for a larger share of Individual content since retailers make 20% margin on Individual content as opposed to 9% for the comp pack. In other words the price of the comp pack was artificially low as part of the Comp Edition. The comp pack on M3 Sed is still at the price mentioned above. Regards, Frederic" Looks like 7MA is still $5k plus according to my dealer in Canada. Asif |

So by the sounds of it, what ever Duncan ordered that required a few special items (I'm assuming that Black/Fox leather is special order in Canada) allowed him access to the ZOK competition package usually reserved for the Edition models. So I'm hoping that Duncan gets to keep this arrangement, and the rest of us continue to find ways to pay as close to whole sale, and waive the special order fee. Edit: I'm sure CA's across the country enjoyed the barrage of calls and emails by pending M3 owners on this topic the past couple of days.

Funny considering how few Sedan sales are claimed, or reported and how popular E90's are in this small pool of Canadian forum members.

Well it is here and I just went down & checked it out and the only change that I could see was the change from the CF trim to the aluminum trim which I am more than OK with. Now I am getting excited!

my SA at BMW Toronto said that it should be 3550+400 special delivery charge but I am budgeting for 5185+400 special delivery.
Anything under 5k just seems too good to be true! |

I didn't realize in the Black / Fox interior that the doors were so red (just like in the regular Fox only). I like that! You're car appears configured similar to mine with 7MA, DCT, MDrive, non-extended (sweet two tone, to change it up from your previous fox), PDC, and premium audio. Although I'm going to guess that you have the Executive package rather than the Premium Audio, and PDC separately as I do. Hopefully you are having better weather in Toronto than we are here, as we got another 10cm of wet snow yesterday.

If your CA is offering you that price, have them print up the paper work and sign it. If BMW Canada invoices them at a higher price, it will be the dealer who has to pick up the difference. Just make sure the order they enter includes the term "Competition Package" and you will be good to go. Even though '7MA' is the order code, BMW Canada in the letter they sent to me, and the delivery document listed my build as "Competition Package". Have fun, and smile your way to a great deal.
