Wow OP awesome and thank you.

May I ask if there is a typo:
You wrote:
*Note: While Stabilus 51237060550 will fit, it is not an exact match, it is intended for the light weight M3 hood, it is for the normal 3 series. This part is incorrectly cross referenced on some websites.

Did you mean:

You can add this as well:
DMTL pump
BMW 16 13 7 193 479 ---> BOSCH 0261222018

I have replaced mine recently and the part is 100% the same (the BMW pump has BOSCH logo and numbers on it).

Solid thread
Always hesitated on Mahle filters only to do a check like this myself against the BMW OEM part and identical.

carbon fiber parts ? (front splitters, side mirror caps, rear spoiler) I know there are chinese imitations but are there exact parts without the bmw mark up ? I guess they're only made at bmw factory since BMW invested in a CF production plant.

Thank you for the OP for gathering all this info. However, the hood strut might not be an exact match. I ordered the part according to this and I can confirm the part number being the same on my M3 and the Stabilus replacement one. They both have the same part number printed on them as 51237900795. However, the factory M3 one has 0200N printed on there while the Stabilus one has 0330N printed. It is definitely much stronger than the OEM strut even when new. Probably not gonna cause any issues but just FYI for others out there. It's stupid for them to have the same part number but different force. My apology if this is already posted. Merry Christmas folks!

Maybe for a steel hood car versus aluminum hood? Do non-M3 have steel hoods?

Nevermind, ECS sent me the wrong one. Will check back with them to correct it. Sorry for the confusion.

Just spent the whole morning trying to sort that out with ECS Tuning and apparently they no longer stock the 51237900795 one and their system automatically sub it with 51237060550. Just FYI for others. Gonna have to source it elsewhere now.

Where do you guys order your hood struts from? I ordered from ECS and Amazon and both of them shipped me the wrong one and now I have to return them. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Thanks. The ones I have are all 9669ZC and looks like it's a cross referenced part to all 3 variation of the BMW 3 Series struts so it maybe be by luck. I will drop them a message to confirm.

I contacted them and they say it's the right one with 200N. I just received the order and they are the wrong one nonetheless. Guess will continue to look around. Thanks though.

Anyone know whether Eldor is now making the S65 ignition coils that NGK made? Eldor is now the supplier for manyBMW coils instead of Bosch or Delphi.

okie, guys and gals. Looks like Eeuropart sorted out and they have the 'right' hood strut listed on their website now. Here is the link: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/419...200N-SG402058/

I will report back if it's right after I receive the order.
