yea, me too, it makes it hard to use the iPhone app cause speed is so far behind

nice qualifying session by Vettel, so much faster than anyone else. It was also good to see the McLaren boys doing so well, specially since the winter testing wasnt the best

that comes to a bit of a surprise during practice and quali...we all thought Ferrari and Mercedes will be up there with the Red Bulls.....but so far only McLaren has come close to RBR in Quali...

another surprise was the saubers in Q1....Perez and Kobayashi has done quite well....btw...a nice power slide from Kamui!!!

one thing i do not understand, when FIA and the teams ask Pirelli to make tires degrade faster and easier, Pirelli did what they ask for. Now a lot of teams were complaining it degrade too fast....

Race day should be very interesting!!!

buh bye!!! HRT...we don't miss you....maybe except your recent livery.....

it is sad that the commentators said the HRT cars are slower than GP2 pace....they really need to do better...

Quote:
The FIA have refused to allow HRT to race in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix after both cars recorded times outside the 107% qualifying time.

Tonio Liuzzi's car stopped on track after four corners of final practice, and Narain Karthikeyan only managed five laps, so qualifying became more of a testing session for the team. With Sebastian Vettel setting the fastest lap time of the first qualifying session in 1:25.296, the 107% cut off time was set at 1:31.266, which both drivers failed to beat.

By the end of the session Liuzzi's best effort was 1.712 seconds outside the time, while Karthikeyan was 3.027 off. The FIA has the final decision on whether to enforce the ruling or not, in order to allow for exceptions such as when a driver does a competitive time during practice but is unable to do so during qualifying, or due to changeable weather conditions.

In this case HRT requested they be allowed to race but the FIA rejected the appeal.

glad HRT is not gonna participate, I feel bad since they put so much work but not enough fellas!

I was also surprised to see a Torro Rosso in the top 10, good job Buemi and Kamui, excellent Q1-3. And was very much disappointed in MSC and Heidfeld, thought both would do much better

Did anyone else notice how good it the broadcast now looks in real HD? maybe its cause i was really tired but you could really feel the speed from the on board cams

+1. F1 in HD is so awesome!

E90Slam, pictures are incredible, but it keeps crashing my ipad's browser

In regards to qualifying, I'm personally a bit gutted to see Ferrari so far off the pace. Big kudos to Red Bull and Vettel in particular - he is really stamping his authority on the grid and showing that he deserves the WDC title he received.

Definitely a noticeable difference in picture quality.

All I could think about when I saw Petrovs time was how well Kubica would have done. I can't wait to see him back in a car!

Any request from HRT to race was purely to save face. They are no where near race ready, and would only be a SIGNIFICANT liability for the other cars. Lets also not forget that their car was falling to pieces during however few laps they did put in in Q1.

To be honest, the FIA will need to step in sooner or later and remove their race seat if this keeps up. HRT put in a lot of hard work, and it is to be commended but this is not a charity event. There shouldn't be any favors done for teams that treat Qualifying as a practice session.

On a better note, WELL DONE McLaren.

The fact that everyone thought they would fail just because they were trying and testing new internal systems during the winter was kind of sad.

Winter testing is testing. Where you have the chance to try things that might not really work out without any significant consequences.. well aside from the Media getting up in your grill about it I guess.
