M3 vs. C63 this weekend in Newport

... wife and I were on PCH on Newport in that open road just north of the marina and a guy in a new C63 pulls up next to us the the light. I overshot the line a bit so his fender's AMG C63 emblem was right next to me. Light turns green and I pull off not WOT but aggresive since my wife was in the car and she always gives me crap. As soon as I hit about 3500-4k which is where i normally shift, he dogs it and I did too...all the way to red line before I shited... i pulled up just a bit ahead of him, he may have torque down low...but once the M revs up... its a whole a different story! He back off at whatever speed before I redlined 2nd (about 70???) and never made up the space all i could see next to my driver's level was his front bumper. That is a very nice car BTW... if the C63 came in manual, that might have been my first choice. At the next light, he wouldn't even look over. I think he didn't realize I was in an M3 otherwise he would not have WOT until he caught up level with me...or he was trying to catch me off guard!

If my wife was in my M3, I would've done the same thing.......But I'd be sleeping in a separate room afterwards!!

Way to go man! He can't touch 8K+ rpms BABY!!!! Good job in eating up all his torque!

(No, but seriously.....If he was a good driver and he kept at it, he'd definitely give you a challenge.....It's a C63 for cryin' out loud!!! That thing's a monster, no doubt!)
