How do I Paint Competition Style 359 Wheels Black
Hi guys,
Just wondering what my best options are to paint the competition pack style 359 wheels black. What type of paint? Best place to take it? Will tires need to come off? I'm a complete beginner at this so any information you can give me will be helpful. I would love to hear from someone who has done it. Thanks in advance! From this: To this:

I was considering that, painting is cheaper though.

I would powdercoat. Normally more durable vs paint. Tires will have to come off.

Thanks Kevin, very helpful. I'll have a look around for a local powdercoat painter.

OP look for local wheel refinishing services. There are numerous powder coaters in many areas. However, there are good refinishers and bad ones. My car had refinished wheels that had started to flake. Just had mine redone, they had them chemically stripped, then blasted prior to powder coating. The shop also covered all surfaces as opposed to just the face. |

Make sure they don't over heat the wheels during the powder coating process as it weakens the metal. Finding a reputable powder coater that is willing to do things slower is important. Some powder coaters will crank up the temperature to speed up the process to increase productivity. My understanding is that higher temps aren't problematic for steel. It's aluminum that suffers. Many PC companies spend most of their time dealing with steel and toss your AL wheels in the oven along with their steel parts.
