iDrive controll/buttons not working after battery & alternator replacement

Hi,

I have a 2011 BMW E92 M3. My local BMW dealer replaced the battery and alternator in my car. After getting home I noticed that the iDrive controller (iDrive wheel and buttons) are no longer working. The radio still works, but only by pressing the buttons on the dash.

What could this be? Is it as simple as a fuse? Is it a module? I have to wait a week before my service advisor could get me into the dealership to investigate. I am preparing myself for the dealer to not want to take any responsibility.

I'm worried that they'll try to stick me with a huge bill to replace something that was likely the fault of a service tech rushing to replace the batter and causing a broader electrical issue.

Any suggestions or guidance?!

Unfortunately the controllers just die sometimes when replacing/reconnecting the battery. You can test to make sure you’ve got power going to the controller just in case. Almost definitely a dead controller though. Check eBay for a replacement.

I bought a used idrive controller on ebay. Exact same part number and it's not working. I've checked a bunch of fuses and they all seem to be working. Everything else in my center console has power (power,EDC,DSC buttons) the AC lighter, the shift knob, etc.

Any suggestions on what next steps I can take?

It sounds like a fuse or more than one fuse may have blown. Any updates or resolution on this?
