I use Pagid RS19 yellows, front and rear with stock calipers for track days, then swap them back out to the OEMs for street use.
They're expensive, but will last and perform well. |

I just started tracking my 2009 e92 a few months. One track day wiped out the stock pads--plus lots of fading. Moved up to Carbotech XP-10s. Still got one day. Melted a brake line in the front. Moved up to XP-12s, and ss brake lines, and ducting. Really liked the braking performance, but still lasted only one day. Just moved up to Pagid 19s. Got a smoking deal from Vividracing.com (ask for Ahmed). Lasted two days at track, and still seem to have lots left--I need to pull them off and measure. But I liked the feel fo the XP-12s better.

I just tried the dual street/track hybrid route with endless mx72, stock brakes,
stainless lines, and motul 600 and determined that I need a heavier duty dedicated track pad setup as has been suggested by many here. I've got a set of mx72's available with 2 track days and few hundred miles on them if anyone interested. I'm a track novice so my break management skills are definitely not up to snuff, also the fact that I'm running with MDM on is probably heating things up even more so. After overheating brakes and laying down uneven pad deposits on my rotors (or might be warped haven't measured yet) during recent HPDE I decided to upgrade to BBK and full track dedicated pads. Your milage may vary since hybrid pads seem to work for a lot of folks and did for me as well initially until I started pushing them harder. Axis

Granted the OP posted almost a year ago I am not sure why is everyone talking about dual duty when the OP clearly stated he wants to swap pads for the track and keep the OE for street use. :clueless:
I personally run Performance Friction 01 on the track and couldn't be happier. They've been around for a while so there's no guessing game with those. |

For less than $200/set, are DS2500 preferred? Any other suggestions in that range? For casual track days 1-2 per year, I don't really like the idea of $600-800 on pads.

PFC08's area about $400 for a full set F/R. Definitely a good choice if your goals are to stop consistent and long life.

I have used the Endless ME20 pads as a track only setup. They work flawlessly but they are a bit pricey. However if you account for how long they last it probably ends up being the same price as the other pads. The ME20's have lasted me about 10 track days on the Stoptech ST40 BBK.
In comparison the Stoptech SP pads lasted me less than 2 track days before they were completely gone. I don't run the ME20's on the street as they do squeak a bit. I use the Stoptech SP on the street. |
