the key is to keep the red and light blue strips slim, because the dark blue will look smaller when at equal width to the others

Next to a friend of mine's M coupe (Z3), the badge stripe sizes seem to be identical.

Sorry the right side of the red stripe is not parallel to the black border. The top is about a fraction of a mm short of the edge and the bottom is too far into the edge covering a bit of the black border.

Iam OCD and I spotted it.

I would be interested in a domed version or almost anything your vinyl shop produces that allows us to go for years without worrying about this! Count me in

I dropped off the car to the dealer for alignment, to check the engine and to check the M badge. I pointed out to them is that the stripes on the M badge were faded. It appears the seal over the stripes had broken and air/water got in. They said it's most likely not covered under the warranty. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Emblems aren't covered. Falls under normal wear and tear. And for what it costs to replace, you'd think they would.

Thank you. Waiting on the price. If too high, I'm going to get the IND gloss black emblems or just dip the whole thing as is.

They're like $30. Pretty cheap regardless, unless you go custom, and even those aren't bad.

Thank you. I have an X5M. The X5 part of the badge is ok. It's just the stripes next to the M on the badge so I need the stripes and M.

I was more worried about the warranty and whether or not the badge was covered. You've answered my question.

Dealer just called and SA stated that the badge is covered under warranty. I believe they replaced it. Will find out upon pickup this evening.

It's not, but they can fudge it so it is. Good dealer you have there (and for the $$ it would cost them, it would be stupid for them not to). Good dealers make things happen for their customers (and by that, I mean a good SA). Bad dealers shrug things off.

The SA mentioned that it is not covered under warranty at time of drop-off. Post completion, they left a voicemail stating that it was covered.

I picked up the car and the stripes look great now. It was covered and they replaced it for free.

My solution: Remove badge.

Had my dealership do this before taking delivery of the car. It hasn't faded a bit as the glovebox doesn't get any direct sunlight.

I can only hand cut them. So I will not offer any for sale.

I did similar tonight. I got my e92 yesterday, they were peeling so it had to go. Went with a black/grey version. Was pretty easy.

buffed my ///M logo and ruined the colours over the weekend.
repaired it by hand cutting some vinyl and overlaying it with another layer of protective film. now when you buff the area it won't fade.

I made several variants til I got it just perfect.

Well done.
It does take a bit of trial and error!
