Point taken. I do plan to go halo at some point in the progression, just not there yet. A good amount of street time still.

having some problems finding a good seat
finally got a chance to try a bunch of recaros, i'm 5'11", 175lb, 38" waist, and the rs-g, profi spg, profi spa are all too tight for me at the hips. While the pole position fits me perfectly, as others have said, the harness holes are too low. I did not get a chance to try the profi spg xl as it was not available but it might be too tall for me? I also tried the sportster cs and i feel even the stock seats have better hold. if the profi spg xl does not work i might have to try another brand |

I'm 6'6" and 270. I ran a Recaro Profi SPG XL in my prior dedicated car as it was the largest I could fit in a Z3 and still give me harness holes which were tall enough, and a seat generous enough for my size. Great comfort and awesome restraint. The key is test sitting seats, and then patience in fitting the way you want.

Forgot Sabelt. Just saying...although may not be a good omen considering.

I just ordered a set of the "low GT" cushions and think that will help, the way the seats are made if you are lower in the seat it gets a bit tighter. Will probably use the mid cushions the seats came with on the street and low at the track. The other benefit of going low or no cushion in these is that they fit more like the Suzuka's would in the lower section. Brey Krause parts just shipped so should have these in sometime soon.

After handling some OMP stuff in-person I'm a convert, those eye-talians know how to waste money at a racetrack. My OMP belts are very choice and were no more expensive than some stuff that seemed under-engineered from other companies I have used but will not name for fear of calling down the fanboy lightning upon myself
IIRC the seat in the car in my sig was a Cobra halo seat and I really liked it For what it's worth you can get most of the benefits of a halo from side nets if you want to do something reversible for street use (just unhook from the front anchor and fasten behind the seat) but still want the side impact protection, I've seen somebody attack the time this way and it worked well. Downside is the only way to properly attach a side net is to take the dash apart...

Don't think anyone in the US is importing Sabelt anymore since Racetech stopped distributing.

I'm 5'7" with 32" waist; bought my Oreca Start FG when I was around 145 lbs, and now I'm 160 (athletic build). It fits me well, and the harness holes are above my shoulders.
There is some space around my obliques. Optional hexagon-shaped padding should help fill that gap. The memory foam bottom cushion could be firmer imo. I personally need lumbar support otherwise the seat will get very uncomfortable with harness. |

In this case you need to add RECARO to the car's VO and still manually remove tons of things. |

I like the width of the Pole Positions but I don't like the angle of the seat back relative to thighs.
My goal for seats was to sit only a tiny bit lower than OEM, mild angle on legs and back. Profi SPG has the right angle for those goals but wow do the Recaro brand side mounts sort of suck for getting the correct heights. SPG specific side mounts are way too low for me, the universal XL mounts are way too high. Probably buying planted or VAC side mounts to get in between.

For seat rail, I got this! Really convenient for shifting & 4point harness.

I originally had the recaro profi xl as the standard had shoulder holes too low. Didnt like all the extra room in leg area so went to omp hte-r with halo in regular fixes both issue and like seat better.

For your height get the normal Evo II, the should holes are a bit higher and I think the seat would fit you better
