I'm sure it's been done before but I've seen a few pics of some custom wheels lately and it's got me thinking it's maybe time for a change.. I'd love to see some other pics of different styles people are running. I'll start here's my flat top/bottom muscle wheel with m stitching.. notice my m button is a cd changer button, it came with it and I didn't switch the other one over, eBay special baby . I'll get to it one day.

Wow!....just gorgeous...would you mind pm'ing me with the order info (specific colors to put in order) for your coby wheel? I would like to order the exact same wheel, just with the m color stitching. Did you custom paint the +/- in the aftermarket paddles to match the m and start button from ind? Just really beautiful. I've been holding off on an alcantra coby wheel for over a year but your pic just put me over the edge. Might be a bday present t myself in March if i can wait.

This thread pushed me into action...finished today. New coby wheel, blue stripe, gray alcantra, tricolor stitching. Blue m button and blue start button from IND. Extended paddles with blue painting. The blue goes well with my lemans blue m3. Sooo happy with result.

Looks great. Just about to place an order with Coby. I have shift boots and a parking brake handle from him in my other M.

Did you send him your wheel or do the Core Exchange?

Core exchange. Was smooth process. Feel is amazing. Picture doesn't do justice, flash makes it look like a rough finish. But it is perfect and smooth with high quality material.

Question on the Coby wheel option... on the instructions it says that the trade in can't have any trim issues .. but as we all know, the stupid wheel trim is the least durable thing ever. Do they reject the trade in wheel if the trim has any wear? Any way to do a trade in w/o the trim?

Trim stays with you and u install on new wheel. Core is just the actual wheel frame after taking everything apart. Wires, trim, airbag, buttons...all that stuff stays with you. Leather cant be peeling off. Be careful removing airbag so you dont tear back of steering wheel.

I recommend you wait to remove until you receive new wheel. When you receive it, take your old wheel apart and move pieces to new wheel. What you have left when you're done is the core. Remember to add cost of shipping core back to coby wheel when looking at price. Was $33 for me to ship core back via fed ex. I made sure i had tools ready before getting wheel and finished entire process in one evening. I am not very handy, so if i can do it, anyone can. It just requires watching YouTube videos for direction and doing everything step by step.

Ordered some pedal haus paddles from IND, but they didn't have stock of the ones I wanted with red +/-... It's not that important, but was curious if there's any way to DIY a quality painting of the +/-.

I bought a red roller ball paint pen at a craft store. Worked great, and has lasted well over a year with no issues.
