Wheel & spacer questions!! Please help! :)

Hey guys, I've been looking for a set of non boring winter winter wheels...
I like the 3sdm 0.05
The fitment is-
18x8.5 et35 and 18x9.5 et40
I was thinking I needed 15mm rear and 12mm front for spacers to make it work. Can anyone give me some advice! Thanks

OEM 18" wheels are 8.5 et29 and 9.5 et23. People regularity run 12mm spacers on OEM wheels/tires. That should give you an idea of the spacer sizes you would need. I would want them to sit at least equal to the OEM offsets which would require a 5mm spacer in front and 18mm in the rear. Not ideal but it would work. You wouldn't technically need a spacer in the front. The rear might need it for clearance, not sure.

Btw are you sure that Kenosha is ready for those wheels? It's a ballsy choice . I would honestly stick with a higher quality wheel like OEM 18's. Apex is another proven option in the lower price point.

I was and probably still will go with the oem 18s. I thought of apex too but was thinking just try something totally different that no one has until I get my HRE's on in the spring.. I saw a picture of those 3sdm on a black f30 and a black e92 and they look unique/tough.
I guess I'll have to make a decision soon the weathers been weird. Rain one day, snow one day, dry 5 days lol.

Kenosha wasn't ready for anything I've had lol.

For the wheels in question I would suggest 15mm front spacers which brings you to an et20. There is now a 7mm difference between front and rear wheels and since we do not recommend utilizing 10mm spacers (they have been known to have fitment issues with certain hubs/wheels and the spacers would not seat properly due to how the extended hub is machined), I would suggest either 5mm or 12mm spacers for the rear.

Better yet, you could also run the 18x8.5 et35's all around for a square setup, utilizing 15mm spacers front and rear.

____

17x8.5 et20 Square
235/40/17

^ This is our best recommendation for an Apex winter setup which requires no spacers. We also like the following:

17x8.5 et40 Square
20mm f. & r. Spacers
235/40/17

18x8.5 et38 Square
20mm f. & r. Spacers
235/40/18

18x8.5 et35 Square
15mm f. & r. Spacers
235/40/18

What makes a good winter wheel? You shouldn't have to sacrifice quality, visual aesthetics or weight when considering a dedicated winter setup. We like the square setup as it allows us to effectively rotate tires, thus prolonging the life and getting the most out of our secondary set of wheels. Let us know if you have any questions, we are happy to help.
