Tomorrow is the day. I should be able to install it and get some video.

My welder did complain to me that my cuts were too thick.

BTW, does anyone remember a thread where someone replaced the rear rubber exhaust mounts with black ones? I'd like to pick some up but I forget where he got them and what the part # was.

What kind of paint did you use?
The welds needed to be wide to fill the cuts?

Looking forward to seeing it mounted.

Rustoleum flat black paint was used.

Yes, my cuts were wide so the welds needed to be wide.

If I did it again I would use a thinner cutting disc. Live and learn.

Do you think Rustoleum™ will hold up well?

Time will tell. Repainting it takes about 1 minute.

Wished you painted the tips too. I was curious to see how that would hold up. I was tempted to paint mine when I had it off.

OK, Here it is!!! It sounds awesome and is very comfortable on the ears. I am super sensitive to drone and resonance and this is perfect!

Subw00fer was right when he said it is hard to depict the sound of an exhaust using a camcorder. Inside the car is especially hard.

So you left the smaller holes open and wrapped the larger holes. What type of tape did you use by the way? How much of the insulating wool did you put back inside before you welded it shut? Thank you in advance. Again, good job!

WTF!?!?! Legitimate job bro. Wondering...what made you re-stuff the chambers? Was it to loud? Did no stuffing cause to much backfire?

Awesome job though, props!!!!

The small holes were originally covered by a steel wool like material. I cut that away. I then wrapped the large set of holes (the pipes with the higher amount of holes) with exhaust repair tape that cures when heated. That tape was also secured with clamps. I then put back ALL of the sound absorbing material.

When I did a trial run, I had wrapped all the holes and then did a test. The first video in this thread is the first attempt. When I started the car, I was like OMG, I thought the house would come down!

The video is post #45: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...7&postcount=45

and

#46 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...2&postcount=46

It was too loud and I felt I needed to open up a few holes and put the sound absorbing material back in to absorb the sound that would come out of those reopened holes. The backfire in those early videos has not occurred again.
