Mike I was reading in an old thread in 2012 that you were saying the gen 2 cable will offer flashing over Bluetooth. So you can flash it from your smart phone. Was this ever implemented in this gen 2 cable that is coming out now. Either way I can't wait to receive my tune.

That's whats up! now you, Warot and I will be running Stage 2 and TP's when we terrorize the streets of in a couple weeks. I told myself I'd wait until this weekend to run the tune but i'm not sure i'll be able to wait that long considering it will be at my place tomorrow after I get off from work.

No, Bluetooth is not available yet.

What does a gen 2 cable do that is different from gen 1? Are there any differences?

Mainly the size/portability of it, and the fact that the cable is separate (Mini USB standard). Also the Gen II cable has a couple other security functions (such as being able to detect power on pin 8 to ensure that flashing only occurs with the ignition on). Functionality wise they are more or less the same. The Gen II cables are factory assembled and the Gen I cables were hand assembled.

We did our first flash using the Gen II cable on an M3 in Canada a few hours ago. It worked perfectly

Mike, I should be receiving my cable tonight (6pm EST) after work. When are you able to do mine? In the even I can not find a place to park the car and have internet access (i live in an apt building so wifi doesn't reach) can I just do this myself?

The 2 cables arrived today here in Belgium 11.40 AM ,and in Mike's local time (LA),i need to count - 9 hours back in time....so 02.40 AM local LA time!
And yes i said the 2 cables?!?! i think ...1 cable for the engine tune,and 1 cable for the DCT tune
