DCT E92 M3 with Active Autowerke Supercharger System dies in the Desert...
The vehicle was on pace to win the event. Everything in the vid happened 3 kilometers short of the finish line...
The same vehicle also participated in the same event a few months earlier with all the Active Autowerke NA mods and finished in the middle of the pack. According to the driver, he was traveling at ~145 mph, hit a bump and went air born. Happened very fast. Last edited by Jean@ActiveAutowerke; 06-13-2011 at 04:51 PM.. |

AA i can honestly say as an bmw Fi Geek, Ess s/c owner its absolutly awesome to see vendors sending these cars to these events, not only does the car perform far better than i expected it doing it in desert heat FFS, very very impressive, imo this shows a company that fully stands by the longevity of their product, very very impressive and AA would definatly be a choice id consider alongside my favoured tuner Ess. Very cool....
Well done.

I believe he hit a rather large bump at ~145mph.

Yup, the driver had a small cut on his hand from his hand getting caught in the cage.. Other than that everyone was fine.
Thank you sir. A bump in the road and they lost control at around 145mph.. Quote:
I agree, we were pleased the car was actually setup properly for this type of event. yes it was wild. |

Did it have a full cage or half?
Good to see they're ok.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Awesome Video....glad they were ok! That car sounded awesome too. I don't want to assume it was a full AA exhaust too; so does anyone know the details of the exhaust system the car was running?
