The race sounds a lot more aggressive than the Sport.

Here is a video of the race:

Depends on if you plan on adding x-pipe later. I'd say sport but I don't like loud exhausts.

You may like race version initially but you'll be sick and tired of the loud exhaust if it's your DD (and if you're over 25 years old).

Get the Sport version. You may not like as much as race in the beginning (as it's not that loud as race) but you'll like it more and more everyday.

And from what I've seen in the forum, a lot more race version FS threads than sport as it's too loud for a lot of people.

It's my very personal opinion. So don't be hatin.

I DD my car with the Race exhaust. Love it. A Sport would be much more practical and less of a cop magnet but the race is !

I like my Eisenmann Sport. Good tone, though it's a hair bass-y for my liking. There's also a little tiny bit of drone right around 2,900-3,300 RPMs. Though all in all, it's still better than the stock exhaust note.

There has been a lot discussed about sport or race. As a girl I initially didn't realize how loud race would be and when it was first put on thought it was a bit much knowing the sound might deepen and become louder with time. But, that said I have had it over a year and love the aggressive sound, it suits the car fine and sounds great. In the beginning of the year when I take it out from winter storage it takes a little getting used to but haven't regretted the race at all. You won't go wrong either way but if you want to get away from stock then do something a little more obvious IMO.

the hp difference is irrelevant. U really think you can feel 5hp gain on a car w 414 hp? I believe they do weigh the same. Maybe one of the vendors can confirm.

They weigh approximately the same. There might be a slight variance in weight that is very minimal. Like many have stated in the thread, it's really personal preference, and the sound that you're going for.

Here is an example of the Eisenmann Sport:

Race is louder than sport. What's your usage/style/interest/desire?

For me race is perfect. I don't drive it every day, but I'm not sure I would change if I did. Before making the decision I read the many opinions already offered here along with samples. I've never gotten to use this, but suggest:

Is there a lot of drone with the Race version?

Every aftermarket exhaust will drone. Some more, some less. The race, I've heard, drones a lot right at 120km/h or 3000rpm.

I'd go for the race personally, as it's aggressive tone and volume suit the personality and character of the M3.

I've had both.. Race, then Sport then back to Race.. Race just has that addicting exotic tone that i got hooked on.. After hearing my sport, I missed the race and got it back.. The race had some drone as did the sport just slightly louder but not much... Go with the Race, you won't regret it..

Went through the same decision and I opted for the Race. They cost the same and I didn`t see the point in paying for a different version of the OEM sound level IMO.

I'm also in this same dilema right now. I've also posted a couple of topics just like this. The general concensus is to go with race. Most everyone that I've talked to or heard from who uses theirs as a DD says that it is just fine and that if you use the voice commands or Blue Tooth, they still work just fine.

Now I just have to stop spending money on my other life hobbies and go buy one...
