Rattling Brake Pads???

I was at the track today (Lime Rock) and was using PFC-01 pads for the first time. The pads were great and unbelievably grippy when they got hot.

Anyway, when the brakes got hot, there was a distinct rattle when the car was rolling slowly as if the pads were rattling in the calipers, which went away when cool. Is this usual for these pads? The pads do not have spring clips like the OEM pads. I just slipped them in without brake compound or anything like that. Could I have done something wrong with the install, pushed the piston in too far maybe? I feel like I missed something. The brakes worked fine despite the noise, but I am worried and I am having the dealer check the caliper next week.
