Damn... That's a long waiting period so this means you can not buy some of these cars for years to come?!?!? Also, is this ban on selling only for BMW dealers? Or every legitimate dealer. Say the used car lot down the street or from A Honda dealer?

The market is likely going to get dry. The good news is, it should saturate once the cars are being fixed.

Can't Sell?
If they can't sell while in recall why are there 39 Used BMW M3s 2008-2012 for sale in a 500 mile radius of my home on CARS.COM?
373 available in all miles radius. |

ONLY the BMW dealers are not able to sell these cars. An Independent Dealer or an Individual can sell without any issues.

Yes. My hope is that they will flood the market when the repairs start and prices dive. Long enough for me to get a great deal. Then go back up.

Hey friends,
Was at my local BMW dealership yesterday and caught word that they are beginning to get in some of the vehicles effected by the recall. They'll be for sale again, more than likely in small waves of vehicles at a time floating into the dealerships... Again, as I'm a skeptic - no idea if this is bullshit or not, but they're pretty informed over there, so I'd imagine that it's truthful info. In the meantime, I'm still looking for the perfect E92 2013 M3, or considering the newer M4... |

Just ordered a Mini for my wife and I'll be trading in my M3 or at least I thought I was. They won't even give me an evaluation on my car because of the airbag. I'm going to end up losing out on almost $2k of tax savings because of this shit.

I received the recall letter weeks ago etc. and out of boredom today I typed my VIN into the BMW website about safety recall. To my surprise it now tells me that there is no recall for my car...I could swear that I checked this some weeks ago and the recall was there.
Anyone else experiencing the same? Edit: also just checked the NHTSA tool, same negative answer.. Last edited by Candide13; 05-24-2016 at 09:40 AM.. |

There are incentives for affected vehicles from BMWFS for trade credit against BMW vehicles. Although MINI falls under the BMW corporate umbrella, MINI and MINIFS is a separate entity. Seemingly they should be xtend the trade credit to MINI as well.

I just checked with a trusted source within BMW. Apparently there is a database issue that is causing customer-facing websites like the ones we're all using to report no recalls. BMW's internal system still shows the recall on my car.
