Hey, where did the EX, LX, EX-L,SE, SEL....... models go for M3? BMW skipped them all straight to special, individual editions. And not to mention the Lime Rock edition. Will it make the M3 faster or a little more reliable?

Nope, but he is a genius! In the same ilk ask the marketing people at GM, Ford, et al.

How many SUV drivers set a wheel off road on purpose? A lot of people buy trucks based of ads of them tearing it up off road, and they buy into the macho man thing.

One thing for sure, they wouldn't make them if they couldn't sell them. If I had the money, I wouldn't mind having one as a 3rd car myself.

No, the obama edition would be Black, Red, and Green.

What I don't understand is why doesn't BMW bring over the GTS or CRT models. All this is is a fully loaded M3 with matte paint. You can acheive the same thing with a wrap and don't have to worry about the ridiculous paint maintenance. (I know this from experience)

Colors, interior, whole package looks great. Who gives a shit what it's called?

People here bitch too much and always seem to know what BMW should do instead.

It's actually a good deal, if you are planning on getting one in any of the 3 Frozen colors.
You'll save about $500 - $600.
I understand many of us rather see power upgrade, but keep in mind that if they tinker with the engine, they have to get it re-certify to sell it, and why would they do that for an out going model.

How exactly is this overpriced? why dont you ask your dealer how much it would cost you to get a frozen individual color, just for fun?

Fast forward 10 years, with the limited production numbers this will be a *hot* item on the used market. It will fetch $$$ where your nice mineral white will be $20k if we're lucky. Thats what is special about this edition, and the fact that you will probably never see another one on the road very soon.
+1

Thanks for educating these dummies on this forum, like 65.78% of them don't know what they are talking about.

While I don't see it overpriced, the thought of selling the car stands waaaaay AFTER, not BEFORE the actual purchase lol

If you defend the value of the car using MSRP, which you seem to be doing, then you might want to consider the fact that MSRP is an inflated number assigned by the manufacturer and is only remotely associated with the true value of the car. As most people on this site seem to understand, Invoice price is the most accurate reflection of cars value. Dealers know that which is why they sell cars at Invoice price +
Anyone buying this car at MSRP (or MSRP+) rather than Invoice is paying for an overpriced car because its true value resides in the proximity of Invoice price.
If you are betting that the premium you pay for the car over invoice is worth it because the car is going yield future benefits then you would be smart to calculate what the premium is you're paying. That should give you some idea of how long you have to wait to get back all that extra money you gave the dealer.

Special... Not really...

Looks good, but not really special.

One of the nicest things with owning a E92 M3 is being able to polish and waxing etc. Frozen just makes you worried about bird droppings and such...

Make a special edition with a uniqe color not available any where else.
