I’m not saying the shocks are worn, but I’ve noticed quite a difference in control since I brought the car here last year. Perhaps the bushings didn’t do well in the humidity, perhaps the dampers just haven’t liked sitting. I figure I have to start fixing things somewhere, might as well start with Bilstein, since they apparently work as good or better than stock. Quote:

Regardless, the car has Dinan Stg 2. That’s what his build sheet says. Sway bar looked stock when I crawled under the car. |

I read through this whole post and has great info. My E90 M3 with competition package has about 30K miles. Shocks should still be good but noticed the lowering at the front like all have said happens. I have biltsteins on my M coupe and they are great.
From the posts it looks like the B6 raises the front when you use with stock springs. If you go with fresh OEM shocks shouldn't we get some type of raising of the front end as well? Just not as much? Trying to make a decision which way to go. Also for shocks this is the first time i have seen shocks wear out so early as well.

Me too. I'm at 50K and really curious how long they'll last so that I can plan other suspension work. Also still curious how the height of Bilstein B6 + ZCP springs compares to OE ZCP setup ... funny how this is all still speculated!
Ansel, good to see you on here, I enjoy your IG account. But you have a superfluous "Cayman" in your signature. |

Curious, do the B6s also work with KW HAS or the Dinan coilover conversion kits?
I suppose that's entirely dependent on if the B6 and EDC shocks are the exact same diameter at the point of where the sleeve is installed.

I would probably keep my ZCP springs with the B6s. The reason Bilstein pairs the Eibach springs with their other suspension kits is they barely drop the car so they are pretty similar to stock. That's why you can put eibachs on stock suspension without turning your car into a iron-wheeled chariot. If you haven't done a front thrust bushing yet I would do it ASAP: https://www.bimmerworld.com/Suspensi...iABEgJEbfD_BwE You may also want to replace your top mounts if yours are still oem. If they are OEM I'd replace with another set of OEM. In the rear you may want to replace your RSMs. Again, if you're stock just get new stock ones. Otherwise the suspension has a lot of solid bushings in it already so there's no need to replace more stuff. |

My 2 cents. I got b6. On comp package zcp/edc
Only installed the rears and been many months. noticed drive without alignment sucked. Car felt floating and just all over. * after alignment it’s A+. Super happy. The back stayed pretty much same at least to naked eye for whee gap. Didn’t sit higher or lower to me. Front I need install still. I probably will match with hr spring later on as I’m getting f14 wheel and know I’ll need the drop. I’ll report back in few months after I install front with zcp wheels specs If I forget post dm me. |
