How to place car in neutral w/o starting engine

When I have the car (DCT) in the garage and I just want to roll it forward a foot or so, how can I place the transmission in neutral without starting the engine?

There must be a way to do this because you'd need it for towing the car in the event it's disabled. Have you checked the owners manual?

There is no way to put DCT in neutral without starting the car. For towing there is transmission lock under the lever boot (described accurately in the manual).

They will lift the rear wheels so only the front wheels will be moving, right?

just place your left foot on the third pedal and... Oh wait... i see..

..it doesnt seem right that you would not be able to get the car into neutral, im suprised to first hear that about the SMG's (i guess its not that big of a deal unless in some rare situations)

in my car you can't even have the door open, because it throws it back into Park the second the car starts rolling.

The guy was referring to SMGs, not DCTs .
