hehe we just dealt with sound limits this summer at both of those tracks. My friend has a 996 Cup Car. It's...uhhh....loud. So, on his first session at Sonoma, he gets dinged for sound. He blew 107db. Sound limit is 103. The microphone is on the front straight near the Start/Finish line. He eased off the gas on the front straight a bit and didn't have any more problems.

Next day at Thunderhill, he was sweating about the sound limit. They also have a 103db sound limit. Even at full blast, he did not have any trouble at Thunderhill.

The difference between Sonoma and Thunderhill is that Sonoma has a ton of walls, billboards and vertical hard surfaces near the front straight that really make all the sound reflect back in on itself which does not help when you're dealing with a sound limit. Thunderhill is very wide open by comparison which can help the sound escape.

The other thing we heard from some random person at Thunderhill is that the staff there can be a bit mellow about sound limits-----unless the executive staff is in the office and the windows are rattling when cars go by. Apparently, they get annoyed and start checking into why their windows are rattling! hahahahaha

New MCS triples, lower ride height. We need to make some suspension tweaks but she is fast on her second time out with the widebody. The first time out was more scary than fun.....this time was just fun! I can't wait to get back out again!

She is so low that we need to remove the front splitter, bumper and side skirts just to her in and out of the trailer.

You might like Speed SF group out here. Drivers are typically fast and very aware in high intermediate or low-advance/high-advance groups. High-intermediate and above are open passing as well. I tend to get point-bys very quickly in high-int when I come up on other drivers - mostly very aware drivers as I mentioned.

I'd avoid OnGrid (did 1 event in high int), Trackmasters I went to in their "mixed" open passing group and pace was slow. The rest I did with Speed SF.

Let me know if you come out here! If it's on a weekend I'd love to hang out in the paddocks.. or on track if we happen to run in the same group

As you know Eddie and Dan were up at area 27 leaving me all alone without support for the first time. It was good as it forced me to get familiar with what it takes to operate this car.

Ah I didn't know you were there by yourself. I could of come over and helped you throughout the day before TNIA started.

Holinger seq gearbox

The Holinger seq gearbox with paddle shift is in. Now it's time to test and tune. We have to fly the tuner in again for this process. It is cold and raining so we will head down to California.
