loose ac belt

Hey I noticed my car making a squeaking sound in the morning when I first start it so it had me thinking it was my belts.(would go away after a min always) I changed both but my ac one is not going on tight. It was fine before i took them off. I just order a new ac tensioner along with a idle pully from fcp euro should come in a few days. Car is a 08 m3 with 74k miles. Ive taken this belt off numerous amounts of times and never had a issue with the tension till now. Hope the new tensioner solves it.

my question is how do I know 100 percent that my ac tensioner is faulty? is the loose belt the dead giveaway? anything else that can cause it to be loose besides it? I have the right belt and the right routing of the belt 100 percent sure. thanks

Sometimes they leak oil and obviously need replacing. I had to replace mine. The quality of the new part is awful.

You can inspect both pulleys to see if their bearings are bad.

the ac tensioner pully came in and noticed its smaller than the pully that was on the car. the pully i had was a alternator tensioner pully . i took my alternator one out to make sure their not mixed up and both have the same model number. i guess you can technically run both but did notice the wear on the pully that was on the ac side. im about to put everything back together and hope it was the tensioner i replaced the reason for the loose belt.
