I was using it on my 08, power steering belt under the PS pulley not over

Thanks, it comes with a double sided belt which is routed below the PS pump vs over it. The early 08s had the belt over the pump my understanding, so yes, 2008.5+.

This pulley (pulley only) will work for all years DCT/6MT M3s. The correct belts for your specific application will vary only. I purchased the same pulley for my 04/08 build 6MT that was removed from a 2013 DCT M3. I Purchased new belts and Installed with no issues. OPs specific belts will only work with 2008.5+ models both DCT & 6MT.
