Found this on Autotrader, looks like a pretty solid deal for the blue car hunters. Interior definitely looks like it needs a good leatherique and probably a new steering wheel. Valve covers look a bit leaky too, but seems like it might clean up well.

Saw this too. I agree it could clean up nice, but it's gonna take some work.

I'm from that area, and the heavy winter coats and those seats are NOT a good match.

Even still...blue

I'm in the area, and the winters are very mild the past 2-3 years, so I don't think that is a big concern but a PPI would reveal if it was.

My main concern is 5 owners? Not ideal and a possible issue for me.

But I certainly think it's worth a PPI and I would not hesitate to contact the seller.

This car is hiding alot of damage.
The seller is always buying and selling M cars.
He bought this car from the auction and has zero knowledge of this car. Hence the "comp pkg" on a 09. This car was serviced through my friends shop with the last owners and they gave the car up to the auction after not wanting to pay to fix some issues.
Its got a large quarter panel / rear bumper damage he is not showing on drivers side.
DCT pan has a steady leak, valve cover gaskets are leaking, in need of a tune up.

Thanks Altaezza; excellent job stepping up and providing some background on this particular car. The 5 owners with low miles was the red flag for me, and your new information confirms not everything is what it appears with this specific E9x.

It's really another example that whenever you are considering the purchase of a used E9x, you MUST get a PPI from a place of your choice.

Good info but still could be a good deal with a PPI to uncover any bigger ticket gremlins. My car had to have the dct drip addressed at 50k and the valve covers are weeping but not enough to note any significant oil consumption. And if this guy is a non dealer trying to flip it that explains why he might be owner 5. Haven't looked at the car fax to see the other history.

Either way if the damage is cosmetic and the issues are common repairs it could still be worth some love esp if the owner can DIY.

For sure, this guy also has a e92 M3
for sale which was sitting in front of Certified car center in Fairfax Circle for a very long time. Im assuming the dealer wholesaled the car at an auction to get rid of it.
Gotta love the same street photos.

Very interesting ... I test drove a red E92 M3 6MT from the dealer right on Fairfax circle around 6 months ago, and it probably was the same car!

But the car in your picture looks very clean, and the one I test drove was really beat up and and was going to need a bunch of work. As you said maybe it just sat over a long time and they let it deteriorate.
