Winter Tires!

Hey guys, first post.

I purchased a set of 5-series wheels with Blizzaks mounted for my E92 M3. I had a 'winter beater,' but decided to sell that and try to daily the M3 this winter. I live in the midwest, so the conditions can get pretty serious! I do have a 95 F150 for the really bad days.

Anybody else put winter tires on their M3 for the winter? I'm really excited for a few inches of snow to fall. I think this car will absolutely shred around corners with a bit of snow

Cheers guys. Here are some pics:

I have been driving year round in NH for 10 years. I have snows on the stock 18s and wider and lighter aftermarket 18s with summers for 3 season use. My snows are performance snows rather than serious snows but it still gets around.

Still too warm here in NY to install them. Running them in warmer temps causes accelerated wear.

One it drops consistently below 45 I'll throw the 219s on.

Yes. the E9x M3 is fine in the snow. Not great, but fine.

Our E30 iX is the winter monster of choice, though. Good ground clearance, skinny snow tires, and a nice mechanical AWD system allow for real fun.

You'll be fine with the M3 in snow with dedicated winter tires - just watch out for any inclines that are icy or with heavy snow.

I use the 220s with Blizzaks LM32 - 275/35/19 and 255/35/19

They honestly drive really well.

Still on my summers now tho. Too warm still around here to put on the winters.

I am running the same setup, getting tires swapped next week along with a bunch of other maintenance before the snow hits.

I run Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's in 235 and 255 on 220M 19's in the winter and the car does pretty well, but when the snow gets too deep I don't typically bother and just work from home.

But like others have said, still too warm here in Philly area to swap. Will probably wait till after Thanksgiving.
