It is also not fair to compare sedans with coupe... I think M4 should be in the equation for F80, not M3.

Physical appearance is a component of virtually every relationship (a fact driven home, sometimes brutally, now that I'm dating again). Shallow? Maybe. Or just human nature. That said...
I've owned three M3 coupes, all at the time one generation behind: e36 (4 years), e46 (11 years), and e92 (4 years so far). During each period, my car is "the best looking" (just like my wives). Until my wandering eye kicks in. With the G82 M4, we're all two generations behind. Strangely, though, my eye hasn't really wandered. Yet. The F82 M4 is like a date who just keeps talking. Never asks a question. Pretty? I guess so, but I don't think I could live with it. Though I haven't seen the G82 M4 in person, it seems totally over the top, like a self-centered dancer with too much personality and too much make-up. That face is shocking! This doesn't mean a current 4-series variant won't grow on me. I may learn to love buck teeth — in the right total package. If, after driving the new M4, I'm impressed, then I might spend the $$$$ to strip off the make-up so it looks something like this M440i x-drive:

To each his own but I think that new grill is hideous! I wasn't a fan in 2006 when they changed the grill on the 330i to have the top be part of the hood but it grew on me after a while and I bought one.
There is no way this new grill will ever grow on me. It reminds me of the Lexus cheese grater grill....
