We can consider this issue resolved now. I've been running the final revision and it feels much improved over the before state and even better than the testing files. I am happy with the changes and it feels strong as ever, the cool florida weather has been great.
I'll update the title now to say resolved. He has the final version available now. Just request a new tune file and you'll get it. |

Awesome, fantastic news!!! Im glad this is fixed and thank you Alex for putting the time in to fix it. I believe I speak for everyone when I say, we appreciate it!
This was a huge annoyance for me with my car and made me feel as if I could only start to push it after I was already cruising along, this will certainly change my experience. Thanks!! |

BW x pipe owner late to the party: So to clarify if I want to buy Alex Alpine’s tune, would I just order it from their website and email them directly requesting for the BW x pipe specific map?

Why not buy the Epic tune which was designed in combination with the BW X-pipe?

Oh was that what it was specifically for? Ok. It’s also $300 more for the epic tune. Couldn’t find any group buys and it seems like everyone goes for Alex’s customer service

@tdott which x pipe are you using? I have the latest version of the tune with my bimmerworld x pipe and the problem hasn't changed in anyway.

Hi everyone, what are the latest reports for this revised Map? Was the low end bogging problem fixed entirely?
I thought I was the only who was encountering this issue with a fully catless x pipe (location closer to headers) and I blamed it on the x pipe being too "free flowing" initially so I did not pursue the matter. I just lived with it by partially flooring the gas paddle from 1000rpm to 2300rpm, and then fully flooring it after that which helped out in overcoming the jerking sensation i got from the engine at low rpm. Will the latest revised Map also take into account the various Octane levels ? Or was it just particular for an Octane like 93? |

Hello everyone, I am delighted that this is tuned for the alpine tuning. But I am using a setting from my local dealer and I have this problem. Impossible for him to correct it. I can read here that the problem is with the exhaust so I will change it. Which exhaust mod do you recommend to correct the problem?

Hey Everyone,
So just wanted to get feedback, before I reach out to Alex. I've had the Stage 1 tune for about a year, with no problems... excellent tune! I then found an ESS Tuning x pipe (forward x). I had the Stage 1 tune on it for 3 days, until the new tune was sent. I loaded the stage 2. When I drove, I started getting a shake in the car between 1,300 - 1,900 rpms, under my butt (front half of the cabin). I figure it was just the X pipe as it wasn't made to use the exhaust bracket. Spoke with a few others with the same pipe and they said they don't have any kind of shake. So I uninstslled the pipe and reinstalled 3 times (with a shop installing the final time)... still the same shake. So drove it for 2 months as I had a rod bearing appt 2 weeks ago. Changed the motor mounts (to new ones) during the bearings change, and still the same shake. Fast forward to yesterday, I installed the oem x pipe but when I tried to load the Stage 1, I needed to re-download the new AMS app. So I emailed Alex and waited, but need to get my wisdoms done today. I drove about one hour away to appt very gingerly (on Stage 2 tune) and got the same shake with the oem x pipe... which never happened... strange. After my app, I received a note from Alex and I didn't need to wait for him, as I need to access the original email for the link... Coo! So I loaded the corresponding Stage 1 tune and vola... the shake went away! So now I'm really confused... Stage 1 tune/OEM xpipe = No shake/vibration Stage 1 tune/ESS Tuning xpipe = No shake/vibration Stage 2 tune/ESS Tuning xpipe = Shake/vibration Stage 2 tune/reinstall OEM xpipe = Shake/vibration Stage 1 tune/reinstall OEM xpipe = No shake/vibration The car pulled strong on the Stage 2 tune, with no forward x hesitation. Has anyone else ever had this shake in lower rpms, with the Stage 2 tune? Thanks in advance! |

Mine happens when at a stop light. Seat shakes. Car vibrates. No performance issues. Stage 2 tune with Akra evo full exhaust. Had the software since September 30. Don't know which version

I get low RPM misfires when trying to accelerate hard under about 2500 RPM with my Dinan X-Pipe on both the 93 & E85 stage 2 tunes. Worse on the e85 tune. Bad enough that the car has gone in limp mode multiple times while trying to accelerate. Once while trying to merge on the highway nearly causing me to be rear ended..
This never happened on my Dinan stage 2 tune.

Same issue here running Alpine tune. 6MT. Engine is absolutely gutless at low RPM, both on Stage 1 and Stage 2 tune. The torque is almost nonexistent. I have the forward valvetronic x-pipe (quality is disappointing) with high flow cats. I got all my files from Alex summer of 2021, so if there's been updates from the beginning of 2021, I haven't seen them. I would consider the tune issue not resolved with this huge dead spot early in power band.

UPDATE:
Hey all, per Alex's email above he quickly sent over the updated tune. I didn't realize I needed to make that distinction or it would have such an effect. Either way, I'm impressed with Alex's support for his product. I'm excited to load the new tune and feel the car wake up! I'll report back the before and after shortly. |

Question about this updated tune for forward positioned x-pipes. Will this tune be fine if the x-pipe is replaced with the oem x-pipe and test pipes or will specific tune for the oem xpipe with primaries deleted be necessary?

This is a Stage 2 tune adjusted specifically for forward xpipes. For what you described, you just need the regular Stage 2 tune. Hit Alex up and just input your mods. He will send the correct tune that correlates to your setup.

Just chiming in, I had the same issues, and requested an updated tune. It hasn't shown any issues so far. Car feels much more lively in the lower rpm ranges. Thanks Alex!
