Another active autowerke exhaust review
Wats up guys
Well after looking at different exhaust systems and exhaust threads I decided to go with active autowerke. I received the exhaust on Tuesday and installed yesterday at work. Quality: This exhaust looks amazing. The welds are beautiful. I decided not to paint the NCCs since they don't look bad in person. I love the adjustability of the tips (they do expand a little over a 1/4 inch when fully warmed up. Install: installation was very simple. It took me about about 50 min to install including adjustment of the mufflers. I have to play a little more with the adjustment if I want it perfect ( I'm anal) but it won't take too long. I had a car lift to work with but it can be done on jack stands. Sound: It sounds awesome. It was 45 degrees outside when I finished but I couldnt roll the windows up It has a nice deep growl from idle up 3k rpm (almost AMGlike). After that it sounds very similar to stock but with a deep hum. Past 5k it's amazing (more of a higher pitch sound). It makes it very hard not to redline every gear. As far as drone, it drones very little between 1.8k-2.1k but it's not annoying ( I actually like it). I've been getting many compliments about the sound and I've only had it a day. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this exhaust and would highly recommend it. Big thanks to Jean and Ryan at Active for all the help I'll post some pics later on once I have better lighting.

Hey flip i have their full system, if you like your system now, brother you should get their x-pipe to compliment the muffler.
you will get attention not because its loud but because its unique people turn to see what car that sounds soo amazing enjoy

Thx man. My coworker is now an authorized distributor for OE tuning so I'm hoping he can clear my CEL with a tune if I go with a catless setup.

Hey guys, I also have the AA exhaust and it sounds really good and have gotten several compliments. Now I am thinking about getting the complete catless setup but not sure how much louder this setup maybe over my current setup. What do you guys think?

It's loud. I had it for a few months. It sounds amazing. But after about half hour on the highway drove me crazy. I think it's one of the best sounding combos though if you want loud.

I had that setup for over a year and just sold it about two weeks ago. I think it sounded amazing. It was not too loud but did have some drone around 2,000 to 2,400 rpm. The only time it was bothersome was on a longer highway trip with speeds around 75mph ( i had 6MT), as you would hear the humming in the cabin.
With that being said though, if I decide to pick up another E9X M3 down the road, I would buy this setup in a heartbeat. |

Active Autowerke Axel with High Flow Cat x-pipe what is the DB readings?
Ive had Eisenman Race Black Series & Now ACM custom modded muffler (same loudness, different tone) I want to pick up a full system but i need feedback, is it a Daily usable exhaust? Will i kill myself from drone? drone wasn't bad with the Eisenmann race, so how would this full set up compare? Anybody with experiences! Please help me out. |

Our Exhaust is definitely a daily driver exhaust with a very small window of drone which usually shows itself around 1-2k rpm when taking off from a stop. I personally think it sounds awesome with the full system but, its only slightly quieter with the 100 cell cats. We also revised our exhaust pricing (Click Below) http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=940577 Shoot me a Pm if you need anymore help. Last edited by SflBimmer8484; 02-27-2014 at 08:59 AM.. |
